And there's not really a Native American Shaun King or anyone else with a national profile. The media knows that there are problems that African Americans face in our society, and there's a general idea of what they are. There is almost never any media coverage of Native Americans. They don't live in urban areas, and the people in the media likely don't know any Native Americans personally, so it's out of sight, out of mind.

Ursus, the young boy initially came out and said he didn't forgive that bigot, and the community rallied around him with pressure being applied on local officials to charge the lady with impersonating a police officer. Only for him to be dragged in front of the cameras and be forced to say he forgave her whilst being given the death stare by his mother.

Thanks for the info Ursus, that's really messed up. Hasn't there been any efforts for the tribes to link up and use their numbers to get some political changes?

First the NAACP and now Shaun King lol........ Is Shaun King even black?

The AIM has been the most prominent organisation advocating pan-tribal activism, but tribal rivalries run very deep and many natives long ago gave up on politics. If only the likes of the Mohegan used their casino profits to influence politics as effectively as Sheldon Adelson uses his.

TG, I'm struggling with that. Is that basically just ruling out the last few circumstances where you can prosecute a police officer, like when they tie someone to a chair and execute them while livestreaming it?

Florida was never on my list of go-to places. I'm not sure that is changing.

                  Florida is fucking mental.

Sadly that story isn't available in the EU because GDPR. Have any technologically capable US publishers run a version of it?

I added a link to the public FB post where I first saw it. Maybe that will work.

I think SDR means the Chicago Tribune thing in ursus's post, which I likewise find unavailable due to GDPR or similar. That story FF linked is powerful.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States and with all the CCTV they cannot track down this white van?

                                          Red.

                                            Yes, red pickup truck.

The same type of pickup that was linked to a similar shooting incident near the same Wal-Mart last year.

It is worth noting that the prevalence of CCTV in this country is nowhere near its ubiquity in Britain, but there has been an inexplicable lack of urgency in the investigation of both crimes - the latest manifestation of what appears to be an increasingly fraught racial divide in Houston.

A small consolation is that the hotel employees in Portland have been sacked; the civil settlement will be substantial.

I wonder if the security camera industry ever gets together and says "Anyone notice that you can never actually identify shit on our cameras?"

'Suspect is a blurry dark mass driving some kind of red thing...with wheels...'

The ubiquity of CCTV is one of the first things any American notices about the UK, but their inability to trace this red pickup is more than a little interesting. Surely you can gather footage from every CCTV camera within about a mile to see where it came from and went to. Even coming up with a model for the truck would be a big help, because "red truck" in Houston is basically like saying "bicycle" in the Netherlands.
