I was referring to George 'Paloma Blanca' Baker

I'm amused, however, that you considered George 'Inspector Wexford' Baker was Dutch.

As a small tie-in with the Eurovision thread...

                Big Mouth (Willem Duyn)
                Maggie MacNeal (Sjoukje van't Spijker)

...aka Mouth & MacNeal, who came third in 1974 with the UK Top Ten hit, I See a Star.

Robert Zimmerman would be the obvious one, no?

Would Engelbert Humperdinck count?(It is, after all, Anglo-SAXON.)

Jack White (German version) - Horst Nußbaum
                        Roy Black - Gerhard Höllerich

Bruno Mars' real name is Peter Gene Hernandez

HP Baxxter of Scooter is called Hans Peter Geerdes.

The father of my ex used to manage a Schlager singer called Patty Ryan. I doubt that's the name on her birth certificate.

Point of order: we can't technically claim Anglo-Saxon for this one. He got the 'Bruno' as a childhood nickname (he was a "chunky baby") after his dad's favourite wrestler, Bruno Sammartino, who was Italian:

And the 'Mars' came from wanting a stage-name with a bit more pizzazz, something "out of this world", and that of course ultimately comes from the Roman god.

Thinking of Italian names, does Lady Gaga (Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta) count as making herself 'more Anglo-Saxon'?

Only if it's the first phase in a career which will end up with her being known as The Dowager Countess Gaga
