    St George's Day.

As it's Shakespere's birthday I thought I'd plagiarize one of Spike Milligan's jokes.

But then I thought, why should I?

He never nicks any of mine!

As I said on the Mundane Thread, Sadiq Khan's Twitter is quite something.

The gammons went crazy when he wished everyone a happy St Patrick's Day, and were demanding a bank holiday to celebrate our great English cultcher, which of course Khan is ruining, while he forces everyone to eat curry and wear saris.

Today he or his people have gone all out with the Happy St George's Tweets, and he's retweeted Labour's intention to make this a bank holiday, and they're absolutely exploding with rage.

I was just looking to see if there's anything going on at the Globe this afternoon, as it's Shakespeare's birthday, too. Nothing doing, it seems. :-(

Nice timing on the new royal baby, too. Landed that one nicely.

Fifth in line for the throne....here's hoping he can hold it.

Shame they can't call him George.

            (How about "Draco"?)

Kate Middleton must be delighted. With the Birth of Prince Tommen, she can finally start having the affairs that befit her status as one of the 0.01%ers. She's done her job and papered over the Windsor Gargoyle Gene with her symmetrical features and glorious hair. Not that it really matters, because Prince Joffrey is going to look like Prince Phillip's knee when he ascends to the throne in 2100.

It's St George's Day. I'm a white football fan with a shaved head. I feel I should be marching somewhere. Society dictates.

Can you march up and down the ward?

I was wondering if they could just 'flip' things – i.e. since the new prince is born on St George's Day, name him after whichever saint's day Prince George was born on, for symmetry.

Alas, it appears George was born on July 22nd, which is, er, St Mary Magdalene's Day.

Level of royal awareness quite low report - a lad at work was checking his phone, mentioned the boy being born, and that it was unlucky as now the poor sod would end up being called George. No-one, including me, seemed to pick up on this as being unlikely as that's his brother's name. I only realised when I heard the radio at home mention Prince George and Princess Thingy having a new baby brother.

Prince Stanley would be a good name. Or Prince Rogers Nelson. Or Price S Bride. But I'm pulling for Stanley.

George Foreman would beg to differ.
