Strange athmosphere towards the end of the Dublin v Donegal game, seemed that Donegal were happy with a relatively narrow defeat, they certainly didn't chase the Dubs as they ran the clock down, they obviously feel they can beat Tyrone and Roscommon and go through that way, certainly their fans were bullish enough after the game, lots of "we'll see you in the final lads " time will tell

All-Ireland Super 8s - Round 2:
Group 1: Kildare v Galway:
After the Mayo kerfuffle, no-one was going to take this tie away from Newbridge, and it should prove intriguing. The Lilywhites were competitive against Monaghan, but ultimately fell short, and up against the defensive solidity of the Tribesmen, and the attacking flair of Comer and Walsh, the same outcome is likely on Sunday.
Monaghan v Kerry:
The only other occasion that Kerry have played a Championship game in Ulster was against Cavan in Breffni Park in 1933, so Clones will play host to a novel experience. The knives are out for Fitzmaurice after the Kingdom's limp Croke Park performance, and with Monaghan's Ciaran McManus and Rory Beggan wily campaigners, the home side could well advance to the semis.
Group 2: Tyrone v Dublin
Monaghan did lower Dublin's colours in the League, but that was virtually a B team, so the Red Hand may pose the strictest challenge for the champions to date. Omagh can be a daunting venue, but the Dubs should have enough guile to ultimately triumph.
Roscommon v Donegal:
Visitors to Hyde Park will know that the home team are literally whistling past the graveyard in terms of their Championship prospects, after last week's mauling by Tyrone. Donegal were game, but limited against Dublin, but still appear a class above their opponents this week.

Donegal win against Roscommon but only by 7,Tyrone beat the Rossies by 18 so Tyrone know, bar an almighty stuffing by the Dubs, even if they lose tonight they can still quality for the semi-finals with a draw in their last game against Donegal

2nd half couldn't have been as intense and so it proved but Galway won't care, they have one foot in the semi-finals after winning 0.19 to 0.16, Kildare battled hard but a needless red card didn't help their cause and for them the season is over

Monaghan 1.11 Kerry 0.10, squeaky bum time down in the kingdom as pre season 2nd favourite could join 3rd favourite Mayo by exiting before the semi-finals,big half needed,do they have it in them?

All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Finals:
Galway v Clare:
It just feels totally wrong for this traditionalist to see the Hurling Championship virtually concluded before the soccer season even begins, but c'est la vie, until 2020 and most likely permanently. Anyway, today's tussle is one of the friendlier in the GAA, largely because of its comparative rarity at the business end of the season. This is the Banner's first Croke Park appearance since their 2013 All-Ireland victory, and while they have undoubtedly improved this year, Galway's firepower and strength in depth should see them prevail by 3-5 points.
Cork v Limerick:
Unfortunately for the Rebels, this game has been overshadowed for the last 10 days by the increasingly ridiculous Liam Miller Affair, in the Machiavellian Frank Murphy's swansong. As for the tie itself, Cork start as heavy favourites, having grown stronger throughout the Munster round-robin, and led by Seamus Harnedy and Patrick Horgan. Aaron Gillane is Limerick's leading light, but the Uruguay of hurling look set to spend another year away from the Promised Land.
