Final score of 3-18 to 2-4, this may well be a record margin for a Munster final.

Thankfully, Donegal easily negating this through direct running and swift interplay.

The provincial championships are dead - an eight point margin, but this will probably be the closest game.

Donegal win by 12, and double scores at that (2-18 to 0-12). Still probably closer than the Leinster final will prove.

Thanks to Clare's qualifier win, here's how the 16 remaining counties are ranked by League performance:

Division 1: All eight teams remain
                        Division 2: 4
                        Division 3: 2 (Armagh, Fermanagh)
                        Division 4: 2 (Laois, Leitrim)

The top 11 teams in this season's League are still in the Championship.

Dublin very wasteful (9 sides and 4 shots dropped short)but are still comfortably ahead 1.8 to 0.5,Dublin legend of the 60s and 70s Jimmy Keaveney was honoured at ht and as was pointed out looks in better shape now than he did when he was playing (Jimmys physique could've politely been described as Molbyesque at his peak)

Dublin have something of a gurrier streak - up by 14 points, and yet John Small still gets sent off for a punch to the head.

1-25 to 0-10 in the finish, 8 consecutive Leinsters for the Dubs.

It's John Small himself rather than the team as a whole,I worked with John a few years ago and he's a quiet, real nice lad but the red mist descends and he does stupid things like that,he has to cop on or he'll find himself watching from the stands a lot in future

The Super 8s become somewhat clearer tonight:

                                  Group 1:

                                  Kerry
                                  Galway
                                  Fermanagh/Qualifier
                                  Laois/Qualifier

                                  Group 2:

                                  Dublin
                                  Donegal
                                  Cork/Qualifier
                                  Roscommon/Qualifier

Could yet see all eight Division One sides at that stage.

                                      Round Three Qualifier Draw:

                                      Kildare v Mayo
                                      Leitrim v Monaghan
                                      Armagh v Clare
                                      Cavan v Tyrone

Should be comfortable wins for Mayo, Monaghan and Tyrone, while home advantage should see the Orchard County progress.

Major confrontation blowing up over the venue for the Kildare v Mayo venue, after two away games Kildare were delighted to get a home fixture but central council has decided to move the game to Croke Park as part of a double header with the Cavan/Tyrone game.
Kildare are none too happy with this and have said they're not travelling and will be kitted out ready to go in Newbridge on Saturday, interesting few days ahead

Looks like Kildare have won according to Rte,the game will now go ahead in Newbridge with a 7pm throw in, I can't imagine they're going to leave Cavan and Tyrone rattling around Croke Park on their own though

Think of this season as the 1991-92 Champions League, only a matter of time before the provincials are played before the League, and the Championship is run on a group phase format.
