    Jamie Carragher

Not much to say really, but he's been a right prat twice over. Firstly to react and secondly to get filmed doing it.

Joey Barton had an interesting take on Sky not showing the footage on a loop, the way it did with his fight or the Ben Stokes incident. Barton clearly thinks Sky protects its own.

Imagine one of those Jurgen Klopp Car ads where he drives around and is shown cheek by some bait and switch child, who initially waves, then shows him immense disrespect when he engages. Well Imagine Kloppo unleashes a big jellyfish like ball of phlegm at her in response. Well that's what Jamie Carragher did.

Seems to be a shit load of material for David Squires this week. Carragher is likely to be sacked (just what was he thinking?), whilst the prick filming should be disqualified from driving at least.

He’s not allowed to throw coins at people? Now he can’t spit. For fuck’s sake what is he allowed to do?

            Tyrants.

                Terribly naive from Carragher there.

He should have broken her leg.

I've only seen stills and not the actual video but he seems to have achieved a fair bit of output there - did he take a swig of water first or was he saving it up for the one that annoyed him most (he reckoned it was the 3rd or 4th goad)? I'm more bothered about this than his employment prospects.

He was a very phlegmy player. Not quite in the Bryan McClair league but still.

                        It comes with the accent.

The worst bit about this is Richard fucking Keyes insinuating that there's an equivalency between gobbing at someone and 20 years of bulling and sexual harassment.

Actually no, the worst thing is that if they sack Carragher, then they'll want to replace that hilarious banter dynamic with Gary Neville, so they'll get Steve Gerrard on their every week. <shudder>

It's a tricky one, because wangling the offended family a couple of VIP tickets to the next game at Anfield isn't going to work.

There's no way that could happen. All the others would go mad. Gerrard's tendency to shut down meaningful conversation with a gloomy pithy saying is more suited to BT.

Reading the article, he's also been stood down by Danish TV from covering Man Utd's Champions League game at Old Trafford tomorrow. Apart from this being very sensible - the goadometer would no doubt be off the scale and who knows how he would react - the surprising (or not, really) aspect is that his reported £1m a year salary from Sky clearly isn't enough and he needs to graft for Danish TV on his day off.

No excuses for Carragher, but this guy is obviously not looking at the road while driving, is holding a phone to film this, ignores his daughter asking him not to say anything, and then when he finds out that his daughter was spit on, his first reaction is "oH!...", obviously thinking of what this would mean for Carragher. Real winner there.

professional footballers spend their entire careers having to strike while the Iron is hot. I'm just surprised that he's on so little compared to Henry or Neville.

True, I wasn't really surprised, though I then did start wondering how much Danish TV pays for a pundit shift. My real hope here is that, like the old episodes of TOTP, Sky stop showing re-runs of that League of Their Own programme cos my daughter is quite obsessed with it and it's filling up the box cos it's on more often than she can watch them.
