I had the same thing with Chromatics/Diagrams after watching Drive had piqued my interest in the former, but realised just in time before buying a CD.

I like opener Phantom Power on the album linked to, which was presumably a belt-and-braces bid to lure in SFA fans as well.

Hmmm, I have managed to repeat the Chromatics/Diagrams error, buying an EP called Cath Carroll by the band Unrest, rather than an EP called Unrest by the singer Cath Carroll.

The somewhat gorgeous Dawn Landes has just released this video of her new song Traveling, which got me all nostalgic for US road tripping, and for the time when she was a mere support act at the 9.30 Club and I chatted to her at the merch stand after her set for, ooh, at least 30 seconds.

The date on YouTube says 2016, but this has been getting a lot of plays on 6music recently, and I like it a lot. Panique by Juniore.

This is the sort of thing that might have been included on this thread before now, so forgive me if it's a repeat post. Utterly charming indie from Norway, with algorithm-boosted popularity that means it currently has more than 9,500,000 views.

Hoping that Furtho will like this one, from Carw, called Lanterns.

I do like that one, cheers. Reminds me of Nation Of Language.

                      That’s effectively a re-post, isn’t it. Sorry.

Can't remember if I've posted this already, and too lazy to check.

                        https://johnmaus.bandcamp.com

"Addendum" by John Maus. In particular the track "Outer Space" (https://johnmaus.bandcamp.com/track/outer-space).

                        Gothic electropop.

My Autumn Empire -- aka Ben Holton, one half of highly-rated ambient post-rockers epic45 -- has come up with a very appealing slice of pro-revolutionary indie folk in the shape of Future Song, here.

For what it's worth, here's my favourite John Maus track (possibly apart from Hey Moon).

                              Cheers Furtho.

New Teleman track, Song for a Seagull (I can only find snippets online; it's on Spotify though).

When it reaches the chorus it sounds suspiciously like a mash-up of Talk Talk's It's My Life as well as Valerie. Not that that's a bad thing.

The Stones Throw label has uncovered another gem in Sudan Archives. A hypnotic tune with lovely violin-picking.

The Boxed In remix of Cactus is PetShopBoysesque in its magnificence.

OK, so I'm getting too much into synthwave.

It's probably way too mainstream for anyone else who posts on here but Mrs Thistle bought Breakfast at Tamara's by George Ezra on the strength of the telly ad. I love it and it's just been the soundtrack of our very summery summer holiday away.

The first five songs leading up to 'Paradise' are all very catchy and earwormish.

I hadn't got round to properly listening to Gruff Rhys' newie, Babelsberg, until now but it suits the warm weather very well. His voice and ear for a melody are strong as usual, against a Jimmy Webb style orchestral backing.

Pariah's pop ambient release Here From Where We Are has some magnificent tracks.

I genuinely can't decide whether that is amazing or awful. I think it's probably both.
