Are Coventry just getting this cos everyone likes Two-Tone? I could see very little on the reports of their winning that suggests they are planning for a beneficial “legacy”. Don’t think it’s Transformed Derry at all. Hosting the Turner prize and other wee baubles is just a whole lot of tired meh.

Guess it depends what local govt actually plan for and implement. Good to hear Paisley (like Dundee a few years earlier) aren’t closing projects on the back of losing it. And the scale of work in Dundee on the waterfront is pretty impressive for provincial Britain.

I did say Sr HAD no cinema for a no. of years. An Empire finally arrived 5 or so years ago. I forgot I lived in Norwich for a few months, too (and revisit often) and enjoyed Cinema City so much I volunteered as an usher, just in time for a full Hitchcock season
