Which it seems means they leave the T20 Blast alone, so that this 100 ball format is used just for the new franchises.

One place I'd like to see the number 100 applied to deliveries: minimum required number of overs per day in a Test match.

How do they manage the bowler restrictions? Each one gets three overs but your best bowler can then bowl the 10 balls?

Has anyone got a link or handy list of which overseas players and Kolpaks are signed up to which counties this season?

Don't we already have enough formats?

Coming next - tip and run, one handed catch whole team out?

Cos that is the real problem with T20 cricket, it's 3.4 overs too long. Jeez.

No surprise this. The ECB makes the FA look like a thoughtful institution chock full of common sense. It was almost a given they would make a mess of their latest Big Idea in a particularly interesting way. Next step: tear up the Big Idea and replace it with a compromise Medium Idea.

I wish we'd not drained the outfield.

Matt Henry might be a good signing for Kent.

Ed Smith is now the main national selector. I've no real opinion on the appointment but will miss him on TMS, the second bit of bad news regarding the show after Talksport getting coverage of next winter's tours (covered elsewhere).

The sun being out doesn't seem to have made batting much easier. Surrey's 135-4 is the best batting display so far, narrowly edging out Sussex 118-4. Northants and Durham are already all out.

Only one team, across both divisions, managed to bat all day. Durham are into their second innings already.

Essex have just bowled Yorkshire out for 50. Five ducks including Root with a golden one.

Essex then 2-2, so maybe 50 isn't that bad a score.

Essex now 93-7. Looks likely there will be three innings on the first day at Chelmsford.

Notts get to 300 for the first time this season against my "other" county, and with Broad and Ball opening the bowling I'd expect a healthy first innings lead. Still feels wrong looking at the Notts line-up and not seeing Chris Read there.
