EFL 'request AFC Wimbledon observations' on reported failure to use MK’s full name

    I’ve got some observations...YOU ARE UTTERLY FUCKING ABSURD CLUELESS CUNTS;

"The failure to recognise MK D*** in the correct manner causes reputational issues for the EFL as well as creating the potential for unrest amongst MK D*** supporter and, as such, is of concern for the EFL."

Why don't they change their name. What the fuck to they need the Dons bit for?

Because "MK Cunts", whilst accurate, is a bit tricky to get on the telly.

It’s trolling, pure and simple. They’ve tried to turn their pariah status in to a “brand” and some kind of bullshit motivational tactic and this is related to it.

When you’ve got everything about being a football club wrong then I suppose using the nickname of a club whose league place you stole in your actual club name must seem great, even when it’s part of the name of the town you fucked over.

          Vermin, fucking vermin.

The EFL pointed to regulations that all clubs are required to behave towards one another with the "utmost good faith" and not to "unfairly criticise, disparage, belittle or discredit" any other club.

So stealing a town's team was done in "utmost good faith" and stealing their nickname does not "belittle or discredit" Wimbledon, then? Just as long as we're clear.

I'd like to see them drop the "Dons" bit from their name as well and adopt something more traditional. As for the EFL looking into it, how pointless and childish can you get? They know what's gone on, they know the history of it so why can't they just leave it?

The problem for them adopting a more traditional name is that lots of the more traditional suffixes have already been used by failed Milton Keynes clubs. According to FCHD there have been clubs called Milton Keynes [no suffix], Milton Keynes Borough, Milton Keynes City, Milton Keynes Town, Milton Keynes United, Milton Keynes Wanderers and Milton Keynes Wolverton Town. These mostly played in the Spartan South Midlands league, although Milton Keynes City did reach the Southern League in the early 80s.

But that still leaves Swifts, Albion, Athletic, Harriers, Academicals, Rangers and a number of others I haven't thought of.

FC Franchise Cunts to use their full name.

Meanwhile, how are "Usurpers Fucking Over Kingstonian FC" getting on these days?

There's a settlement called Salford just the other side of the motorway. How about Salford City FC?

"Cows" would work well, given the infamous sculptures.

Milton Keynes Grid System FC. The FC doesn't stand for Football Club, of course.

The way they called one end of the hockey stadium 'the Cowshed' nearly made me commit grievous bodily harm when I went there on the first day of 06/07.

Surely Wimbledon could've handled this with a bit more imagination - putting "Dons" in a different font / font size in the program; a dramatic overlong pause before the "Dons" in any announcements.

                                                Nevertheless I admire their principles.

The women’s team play their home games at Newport Pagnell Town.

These days, if an MK-based club were going to rise up the pyramid they would almost certainly have to do it playing either at Newport Pagnell or Bletchley, i.e. one of the small north Bucks towns which existed before the development of the new town.
