Oxide Ghosts - The Brass Eye Tapes

A film about the making of Brass Eye, by the director of the show itself it going to be doing the rounds shortly.

By Christ, that show was funny. And essential. Essentially funny, then.

The "liquid silk" scene stayed with me for an unfortunately long time. I found that more disturbing than most of "Jam", for some reason.

    I still laughed.

Jam was a bit disappointing for me, sketches like the Gush and the 4 year old hit girl were far funnier and disturbing without the visuals. The radio show Blue Jam is still amazing. If you can get the Warp compilation, buy it now.

I loved Jam, but I came to it before hearing the radio show, which probably helps. I still think some of the sketches are as good and as fucked up as anything on the Warp collection - the radiator baby, the symptomless coma, the housebuying scene, and best of all Julia Davis arguing with bureaucrats.

And Mark Heap's "Mr Lizard" turn is one of the most brilliant slices of comedy acting I've ever seen.
