Man U must have both won and lost in their away kits. Liverpool have never won (in fact don't think have played) in an away kit so it's not them. Juventus must be a shout as they've lost enough, and were in their home kit when they beat Liverpool in 1985.

Correct with Juventus, Rogin. Home kit; won it in 1985 and lost it in 1973, 83, 98, 2003, 2015 & 2017. Away kit; won it in 1996 and lost it in 1997.

Both finals Man U lost, in 2009 and 2011, were in their away kit.

        Correct, correct and correct, 3CR.

Milan are the team to have won it most in their away kit, wearing that famous all-white in their victories of 1963, 89, 90, 94, 2003 & 2007. And, as you say Steaua Bucharest won it, in 1986 - the only time they won it - in all-white (a strip specially commissioned for the final, we're told by denishurley) and Manchester United's 1968 win was the only one of their three in an away kit - of course, in the all-blue.

          Correct:

          Bayern Munich Home Kit; won it in 1975, 2001 & 2013, lost it in 1982, 87, 2010 & 2012. Away Kit; won it in 1974 & 1976, lost it in 1999.

If you like, Bayern are also the only side to draw the final in their away kit - also wearing it in their first game in the replayed 1974 final.

Correct again - changed into their home shirt for the trophy presentation but hideous orange it was for Barcelona's first ever win in the final. Only time they've won it in an away kit.

Roma 1984 are the other club for Question 3

                Comment

Correct ursus - put that together with Walt's three answers and Question 3 is all done:

The clubs who played and lost their only final in change/away kits:

                  Club Brugge 1978
                  AS Roma 1984
                  Sampdoria 1992
                  Arsenal 2006

But there's a flag on the play and I'm going to ask the Museum of Jerseys to double-check that was indeed the Brugge away kit in 1978. Or did they just reduce their blue and black stripes to a trim in that period? They wore a similar all-white strip in both legs of their 1976 UEFA Cup final v Liverpool. Liverpool did not have to change from their all-red home or away. Hmm.

                        Cheers Ursus.

Denis can stand down (for now, anyway - long way to go yet). Was being lazy. Was trying to watch Scotland V Costa Rica at the time (unwatchable as it turns out) and my "research" only got as far as this, from the Brugge home leg of that semi ...

... spotted our old mucker, Romeo Benetti* in the 1978 version of the Juve away kit of the finals 18 and 19 years later, and panicked ... and bailed.

So Juve and Brugge both wore their home kits in the Turin leg of that 1977-78 semi then both wore away kits at the Jan Breydel epic. When football was football and men were every bit as hard as their facial hair would have you believe.

But anything that gets a picture of Franco Causio on this page is well worth it.

                          Absolutely, Kev:

                          Milan: Home Kit Won in 1969 and lost in 1958 & 1993; Away Kit won it in 1963, 89, 90, 94, 2003 & 2007 and lost in 1995 & 2005

So we have Bayern, Juventus and Milan for Question 4 - just one more to get.

Barcelona: one of each for Barca...... Home kit lost 94, won 15; Away kit won 92, lost 86. You can fill in the gaps if you like Alex, like some sort of catenaccio sweeper.

Alex, you knew what the Costa Rica score would be before you tuned in, surely?

It's all preparation for getting into the easiest Europa League tier.

How dare you imply Barcelona ever played defensively. It's like saying they paid for a player - instead of growing them all in their herb garden. And don't effect superior disinterest to distract from the fact you don't know all the answers - It's like saying you're "more than a club" to cover up for the fact you're a corporate behemoth.

But yeah - Barca also won it in their home kit in 2006, 09, 11 and 15 and lost it in their home kit in 1961.

So Question 4 is done too:

The four clubs other than Real Madrid to have both won and lost finals in both their home and change/away kits:

                                      Barcelona

                                      Bayern Munich

                                      Juventus

                                      Milan

and, as Denis Hurley will tell you, another where the captain on the pitch let the club captain take over.
