Looks like B teams will be allowed in Serie C from next season. Article here, via this Twitter thread. Shame.

For the record, Barcelona B - the only B team in the Spanish second tier - are six points off safety with four games to go. Celta Vigo B could sneak into the third tier play-offs to replace them, but they're currently outside the required positions with one game to go. Meanwhile Werder Bremen B - the only B team in the German third tier - have been relegated. Hamburg B are the only team in the fourth tier that could make the play-offs as they currently top Regionalliga Nord, but Weiche Flensburg are level on points with them and have a game in hand. Jong Ajax won the Dutch second tier however, with Fortuna Sittard taking the single automatic promotion slot from second place.

      Interesting

In part, this has to be a reaction to the financial and corruption-related chaos that has marked the Italian lower tiers for the last decade and more.

But it is also an attempt to help the national team. The B teams will be restricted to U21s, with up to two overaged players who can be 23, and an as yet unspecified number of players who must be eligible for the Azzurri.

Inter have surprisingly lost at home to Sassuolo, gifting Lazio a great chance to seal Champions League football.

Hahaha. That's begging for an in-depth Illuminati Freemason Blood Sacrifice conspiracy analysis.

so...... when do Milan go bankrupt?

                  Comment

Now that Silvio is back with "significant influence" over the government, my estimate is a few years later than it would have been earlier this year.

I suppose when I said go bankrupt, i should have said football bankrupt, in that the current owners go under, and some other bunch of cunts (possibly silvio) swooping in to carry on as before.

Well, there is some evidence that the current owners are already insolvent by any standard measurement, but that has been the case for a while.

Champions League qualification has been a very long shot for them since the winter.

One thing that is rather obvious is that they would take Real Madrid's arm off if they extended the same offer for Donnarumma that was on the table last summer.

                            Blimey, Lazio, way to self-destruct.

                              More bad news for Milan.

European soccer’s top financial investigators have recommended excluding the storied Italian club A.C. Milan from continental competition for violating rules that limit spending, according to two people involved in the process.

A final decision on whether UEFA, the governing body of soccer in Europe, banishes Milan, a seven-time European champion, from participating in the Europa League is due in early June.

Who would be their replacement? And where would they be likely to be put in the draw?

Presumably Atalanta would be put through to start in group stage and Fiorentina (assuming they meet the licensing criteria) would inherit the place in the qualifying rounds.

It's not going well against France. 2-0 after 27 minutes. A goal from a scramble after a set piece, and a penalty
