Has that started? Well, ok, that was probably rhetorical.

Auckland City are out. Never mind, after tonight's games across Europe, there will only be 16 clubs left with a chance to play Auckland City next year.

There's no-one at the Arsenal game.

It's going to be interesting to see how many they say are there, it looks about half full at most.

Milan were already through, but their 2-0 loss to Rijeka isn't going to help Gattuso at all.

  6. #1856
Rather fuller at the Marakana, and the locals are happy as Red Star lead Koeln via a very nicely worked goal.

Zvezda only need a draw to go through, unless BATE somehow recover from being 3-0 at the Emirates.

Köln are wearing a rather bizarre light grey number with bright yellow shorts.

  8. #1858
BATE didn't exactly recover, and neither did Koeln which is hardly surprising given the season they are having. Cervena zvezda through, and as such the only side this season to being in the first round of qualifying and reach the knock-out rounds.

I fell asleep in front of Marseilles v RB Salzburg. It was far more entertaining than the match.

Hart dropped by West Ham, is this the beginning of the end and he ends up as the new Richard Wright?

Adrian is a better goalkeeper than Hart and unless he starts chucking in a couple of goals a game Hart had better get used to the bench. Chelsea have been utterly shit, the lazy pundit claims about Hazard being in Messi and Ronaldo class looking like the overblown drivel they are.

The difference between Chelsea and City this season quite neatly demonstrated there - where City adjusted, Chelsea were completely unable to change the tempo of the game.

Spurs Stoke is the match on Romanian TV. Spurs scored via Shawcross's face and should have had a couple more (Kane has just uncharacteristically missed a one on one with the keeper)

Meanwhile I was wondering about the lack of twitter updates from Carrow Road and have only just realised that it's an evening kick off and not a 3pm one.

i stumbled upon the BT Sport equivalent of Soccer Saturday for the first time today. It was terrifying. At one point Mark Pougatch got up, walked over to Gary McAllister, bent over and repeatedly shouted at him. Then he went and sat down and started shouting at him again. Some other people were shouting at Paul Ince, taking the piss at Tom Ince being shit at scoring goals. Paul Ince shouted back. Someone was reading out tweets and fantasy football stats. Mark Pougatch shouted everything. Maybe they were all shouting to make themselves heard over the incredibly loud fake crowd noise swirling around the studio.

I had all this going on through the speakers of a home cinema system. It was like the first bit of Saving Private Ryan.

BT Sport Score? Yeah, it's weird alright. You should see it when Savage is on, (no, really). Chris Sutton's contempt for him is palpable.

I believe that's the name, more like BT Shout Score eh eh. I'm going to watch it again, it's compellingly bad. I only wish I still smoked weed.

He also used to do 606 - he might still do so, I don't know, cos his involvement put the final nail in the coffin of my listening to it.

Also, either on 606 or on one of those documentary pieces they do occasionally, the subject was how much players earn. The bit where he talked through the sequence of his numerous yacht purchases was enough to cause a socialist uprising if enough people listened to it, so they evidently didn't.

Enjoyable game between Valencia and Celta Vigo. At 1-1 with 10 minutes to go, Valencia have just been awarded the softest of penalties. 2-1, just, the keeper nearly kept it out.

No Jonathan Pearce, players do not have the "right" to go down when an opposition player grabs their shirt.

Jesus, now he's all but calling the players puffs for having a hot water bottle in the dug-out.
"What would Chopper Harris and Billy Bonds have to say about that."

Is that a real accent? It’s like he went to generic sports broadcaster school. But with added “emotion”. You can smell the Brexit off him, him and Tyldesley both. Kind of fucks that want the anthem played at the end of the night in pubs and picture houses, all for National Service they never had to undergo.
