Will be interesting to see the attendances at Shaw Lane and South Shields.

I suspect there will be considerably more at Shields.

Banbury United v Shildon is a tremendously local tie for this stage of the competition, think Banbury might want to avoid a 420 mile round trip in midweek for any replay.

It's rare the FA Cup gets to this stage and I have to Google a team so kudos to Haughmond.

Not the longest journey in this round by a long chalk. Sudbury's tie at Truro involves a 720 mile round trip from Suffolk to Cornwall.

Meanwhile whoever wins between Bodmin Town and Bideford on Wednesday can look forward to a round-trip of either either 470 or 530 miles as they travel to North London to play Haringey.

I mentioned them up thread, or I didn't, can't remember.

Anyhooo, I'm off to the replay tomorrow night at The Shrewsbury Sports Village.

I'm also going to the Haughmond game. I had pencilled in a visit for tomorrow anyway, but an FA Cup replay is definitely more enticing than a tie in the Polymac Cup.

You know where you're going? It's easy enough with satnav. There's not a lot around there. There's the Coracle pub just along the road, but as it's the other end of town from me I've no idea what it's like for food/beer/welcome etc.

My dad is probably going to go to Haughmond as well. He's been to some of their league games.

I should get off my backside and finally watch Haringey Borough. I live only 20 minutes from the ground, what a terrific result against Welling (think I only saw Lincoln win there once).

I'd leave it a while, there's a massive fire still going on right over the road.

The Haughmond FA Cup run comes to an end with a 5-0 defeat.

They just didn't have the quality to break down a well drilled Boston, who only took a 2-0 half-time lead through errors, and visible tired and lost their shape toward the end.

Haughmond gave it a good go, showed some spirit and at least tried to play a bit of football.

Overall, an excellent achievement from a club that was playing on parks a few years ago.

About 800 there, which was a bizarre sight for what is a Council facility run by SERCO (or it was) with people coming and going about their normal sports activities, while an FA Cup tie was going on.

Are the attendance records for each round listed anywhere?

People speculating we could break the 3QR record but nobody seems to know what it is, although the latest WSC issue mentions Banbury once getting a crowd of over 7,000 and we won't beat that. Would still be interested to know what they are.

I don't know if attendance records are listed but I found this for 1947, which is the year crowds were at their peak: http://www.uptheposh.com/matches/3232/

So the short answer is that unless a ground can hold more than 11,526, it can't break the record.

I make that just three teams from the ninth tier left in then; AFC Mansfield, 1874 Northwich, and Bodmin Town although the latter are still to play a 2nd round replay.

South Shields v Hartlepool has to be the tie of the round there.
Haringey v Heybridge means there'll definitely be at least one 8th tier side in the 1st round.
Shildon (whose progression I previously missed) the only 9th tier side definitely left at this stage; 1874 Northwich a replay away from joining them.

Haringey Borough turned down the option of their fourth qualifying round tie being shown on iPlayer because it clashed with a car-boot sale

There are four ties that are both ex-league teams there. I think I've seen all 8 of them as league teams.
