Ha - sorry. Nothing too mawkish, please. I'll settle for a hedgehog scuttling through the snow.

        Magnetic Fields - Washington DC

Does it count when a band does call and response spelling like Country Joe & The Fish with Fixin' To Die Rag?

A-Bomb in Wardour Street spells out Apocalypse at the end. (I've been trying to remember that one for the last hour, totally interfering with listening to the cricket. And work, I suppose, technically)

Good point. An illustration would work.

I have read through this a few times and am pretty sure this isn't mentioned yet, which surprises me.

                    Ian Brown - F.E.A.R.

Spells it out in the title and the lyrics, which are full of suggestions for what a fear acronym might stand for. But the song's about fear innit.

The end of Hot Chip's Over and Over spells out "Kissing, sexing, casio, poke, you, me, I"

Prince's Diamonds and Pearls sort of spells out "Diamonds" - "D to the I to the A to the M..etc"

                              Ice T 'New Jack Hustler'

Involves one off spelling of H.U.S.T.L.E.R. prior to this, the producer repeats the chorus hook "New Jack" several times.

Hip hop being the verbal medium it is, would be a mine for this sort of thing.

Yes, I'm afraid you'll have to take your S.O.S.s and I.O.U.s elsewhere. Whole other ball game, those.

Guilty by The Pearls (1974) - there's another. And Maria Muldaur's Woman (1975).

In both cases, the title is spelled out within the lyrics. Obviously.

(People really aren't wising up to this 'no acronyms' ruling, are they?)

How on earth have we got this far into this thread without Ottowan's 'D.I.S.C.O.'?

Oh, and while I'm here... The Cure - 'Fire In Cairo'.
