Suspicions were raised that Dublin City WFC boss Mortal Joe missed the OTF derby in week 2, but he was very much in attendance when his side took on Fossa Delle Leonesse.
Despite that his charges found themselves on the back foot in the opening half, and fell behind soon after the interval. That was pretty bad news given that Dublin not only hadn’t got a point but also hadn’t registered a goal in their opening two games, so when the visitors struck again inside the last ten minutes it was game over.
However Dublin did at least get a consolation from Moira Brennan. Sadly this was never going to be anything more than that on the day as it came in stoppage time, but it might be something for the longer term as at least Dublin are off the mark in the goals-scored column.
No such worries for Menywod Maeshafn, whose spree against a rudderless Dubs side had moved them up to second and set up a top-of-the-table clash with leaders Empire Of The Sun.
IsThatcherDeadYet’s side were looking to build on that, and had spent most of the match knocking on the door before finally blowing it down in the 72nd minute, Ellinor Lydell firing in after a corner. Empire Of The Sun had posed some threat in the match, so a second was required by the Welsh, Justine Bellamont obliging as she tapped home after an 86th minute counter-attack had caught the visitors pushing up.
The win saw Maeshafn leapfrog Empire Of The Sun to top the Division 5:27 standings by two points. Dublin, meanwhile, are one of two sides without a point but have the better goal difference of the pair so sit seventh.

Sockford Emollient arrived at the, erm, Lotta Falkenbäck Arena to take on AFC Wimbledon as the Division 6:40 leaders. However The Gatorsharks were level on points with a number of sides, one of whom was their hosts so this was a tough match to call.
Emollient got off to the worst possible start as Leila Reigel put through her own net on 8 minutes to give Wimbledon the lead. From then on the chances moreorless exchange chances in a very open contest. Despite the number of opportunities, the next goal was crucial and The Dons got it midway through the second half. Maryam Nogueira pulled one back for Foxy265’s charges from the spot, and as that was in the 73rd minute there was enough time for a Sockford equaliser. But one didn’t materialise.
As a result The Gatorsharks drop down the table to fourth place, three points adrift of the top two.

Invisible Ladies were hosting a regular foe as they welcomed struggling Villa Lionesses to The San Seethrough.
Villa were pointless in the season to date, and that showed in the general play as The See-Throughs looked much the better side. But one that was not turning possession into chances as the game drifted on by goallessly. The home fans were really beginning to fret that two points were getting away when a breakaway sent Rachel Crouch clear in the 86th minute and she kept her cool to finish and win the game.
Victory moved PebbletheFish’s side up to third in the Division 6:41 table, level with second and two points behind the leaders.

Our final port of call as always this season is Division 6:42 and the three OTF sides involved there.
One of these, Riverbankers FC were at another side yet to get off the mark for the season, Perfect Ladies (more like Imperfect Ladies *kaboom* *tish*).
The Riverbankers side is still developing, with manager SouthdownRebel apparently favouring a youth, and promote from within policy. That is going to be a slow burn, and in this one it was Perfect Ladies (who have a new, active manager themselves) who took the upper hand. And the lead on 15 minutes. However The Bankies now have a bit of quality in their side and ten minutes later this came to the fore to net their first goal of the season, mentor and strongest midfielder player by far Begüm Tunc doing her free-kick specialist thang.
That was just a temporary reprieve as Perfect restored their lead before the interval and then doubled it soon after the break. Two more between the 70th and 80th minutes made it 5-1, but the last word did go to Riverbankers as young defender Amy Arun netted her first career goal with 82 on the clock.
Solent Sirens made the trip to Söderbönerna on the back of three points from their opening two games, which was the same record as their hosts.
The match was as evenly contested as that would imply, both sides having a good number of chances. The score remained stubbornly level for over an hour though, which was making the opening goal increasingly crucial. It finally arrived after 70 minutes, and went to Söderbönerna, who caught The Sirens out for a second ten minutes later as Andrew7610’s side pushed on for an equaliser.
Witches of Chiswick had a tough task on their hands as they hosted Rotnäset BK, who not only had won both their opening games but had also done so without conceding any.
The Bewitched were therefore under pressure when Rotnäset took the lead after 24 minutes. Ref Ian Hartman denied them a second before the break, but they eventually got it on the hour mark which simply gave Wiblflibl’s side too much to do. In fact the Chiswick girls did not even manage a shot in the match, to the vociferous displeasure of the Field Lane faithful.
Where does that leave our sides in the standings, then? Well, Chiswick remain the best of them, but their fourth place is now six points adrift of the top two places. Solent also have three points and are a place behind Chiswick on goal difference. Riverbankers are the only side without a point to their name (in fact the other seven all have at least one win), so prop up the table.

The draw handed Dublin City WFC a tough test against opposition from two tiers above the Irish side, FC Nee-Nee.
The opening leg at Phoenix Park played up to that perception, not helped by the apparently continued absence of manager Mortal Joe from team selection meetings. That meant that when Alice Bonnal went down with a 14-day injury on 52 minutes there was no-one to replace her. 10-man Dublin fell behind just two minutes later and shipped another couple subsequently. They couldn’t registered themselves as another injury actually helped their foes, Nee-Nee being forced to change their ‘keeper in the first half but all that did was simply bring the first choice on to the field in place of the back-up!
The return match was a pretty foregone conclusion, with the visitors manager once again either a wild gambler (not picking a sub) or AWOL. In his likely absence, the Dubs team put up more of a fight, conceding just once. They might even have got a draw from the game if Veronica Kåmark second half effort hadn’t been chalked off by Irre Levant. It was though, and it wouldn’t have been even close to enough anyway as Dublin exited 0-4 on aggregate.

Viking South Utsira’s attempt to match or better last year’s deep run got underway with a relatively tough first round draw given their high seeding as they took on Division 4 side Embla FF.
The draw probably looked worse for Embla of course, but things definitely went their way in the opening leg and particularly in the first half of that. Most of the stats for this 45 minutes were pretty even, 51-49% possession in favour of The Blood Eagles, 3-1 in chances to Embla, but the scoreline wasn’t as Velvet Android’s side found themselves 3-0 down at the break. The damage was done by Embla prolific Brazilian centre-forward who had the game of her life as she netted a hattrick.
VSU really needed one or two back after the break, and thought they had achieved that on 50 minutes when Manuças Fudida turned the ball home, only for it to be ruled out by George Buske. That took any momentum The Blood Eagles might have had away, the scoreline remaining the same and truly unreflective of a match where Viking were even contestants in almost every aspect. It leaves them with a mountain to climb in the return.
It was also something of a balancing act for The Blood Eagles as whilst they needed three to level, conceding an away goal meant increasing that to five, so they couldn’t be too gung-ho about things. What they needed was to chip away at the advantage, a process that Asta Austrheim got underway early when she headed in in the third minute.
The second goal wouldn’t come though, and as time ebbed away Viking were forced to take greater and greater risks. They were punished for that 17 minutes from time, Embla finishing off a counter-attack to seal the game, the scorer being a younger cousin of VSU legend Lurdes Quental. Magda Fevereiro sounded a defiant note with a winner on the night in stoppage time, but that was really just bluster as Utsira’s cup run this season ended before it had got underway.

So far this report has been rather disappointing. Could Drakaina give us something more positive against Division 5 outfit Kenty DFF, that being a tier lower than The Dragons.
The first leg did provide some of that as Etienne’s side put in a very controlled performance. They were solid at the back and probing up front, looking to pick Kenty off. They managed it once, with a 50th minute breakaway that was coolly finished by Sandrine Petit, who has been in good goalscoring form so far this season. That was the only goal of the game, but an otherwise positive day was marred in stoppage time by a nasty 18-day injury suffered by The Dragons strongest midfielder, Silvia Atum. Her absence will be a hard one to cover.
One way of doing that was to move further ahead so there was more margin for error. Or so Laria Sietaridis clearly thought, as she doubled the advantage in the ninth minute. The score remained unchanged until half-time but after the break Kenty came out swinging and their pressure told midway through the period to halve the deficit. That set up a frantic last few minutes as one more Kenty goal would have put them ahead on away goals, something made even more nervy by the manager’s decision to hand young back-up goalie Naida Katsouranis the gloves for this one. She came through it though, conceding just that one time from six shots faced.
Has Katsouranis played her way into the team for the Third Round matches against Division 4k side Anonymous? We will have to wait until Saturday’s match at Delphi to find out...

Menywod Maeshafn were fighting up a level when they took on Division 4 side Albion.
The opening leg was in Wales, with the hosts surviving an early scare as a 6th minute Albion goal was disallowed. That proved just a temporary reprieve for IsThatcherDeadYet’s side, who fell behind in the 35th minute. Maeshafn were in the game though despite trailing, and they levelled early in the second half through Justine Bellamont’s header.
The teams kept plugging away, but it was the visitors who struck next with just seven minutes to play. That looked likely to be the winner, until Maeshafn headed home from a corner for the second time in the day in the penultimate minute, Simone Kjellberg rising to meet that particular ball across.
Kjellberg’s late goal definitely gave the Welsh outfit a chance for the return, but more was still needed to advance. At least a goal, or following Albion’s opener midway through the first half, two to go ahead on aggregate. The problem was Maeshafn were not exactly peppering the Albion goal with shots. They did pull one back late on, Tina Käck powering home a header from a corner, but that was it as Maeshafn were knocked out on away goals.

A cross sixth-tier affair pitted Erbil against a side whose name is a little bit disturbing, Pendleton En Lycra. We really don’t want to know what rocks fellow managers boats so clearly, thank you!
Erbil were away in the first leg, and that match was going the way of Jdsx’s side for the majority of the game as they held more possession and the lead following Alanza Solaun’s 55th minute long ranger. However the game changed in the 78th minute when Sabina Granå was clattered and picked up a 14-day injury. All Erbil’s subs had already been used so when Granå was carried off it took them down to 10 players, something the hosts took advantage of to score twice in the dying minutes of the match, the second coming deep into stoppage time. Even more gallingly, the opener came from the player who had injured Granå and only got a yellow card for her offence.
Given the frustrations of the opening leg, Erbil were highly motivated for the return. They threw themselves into the game, but simply couldn’t break the Pendleton rearguard down. And then, on 51 minutes, there was a breakthrough at the other end as the visitors cancelled out Erbil’s away goal. Two were now needed, but none were scored as Erbil were knocked out.

Csiki Girls were looking to assert their newly acquired status as they took on a Red Dead Heads side that currently operate a tier below The Csiki’s in Division 5.
The first leg was at the Dead Head Arena and for a good chunk of the game it was going as Csiki’s manager Ad Hoc must have hoped as his side had more of the ball and after 51 minutes also claimed the lead when Maria Morientes headed home. That advantage didn’t last all that long though as the Dead Heads equalised on 64 minutes. Then, seven minutes from time, referee Hugh Cango was convinced to awarded the hosts a penalty, which was struck home to send Csiki Girls to an opening leg defeat.
Between the two matches the Csiki’s splashed out on a highly quality midfielder in Julia Bröker. One of Bröker’s best attributes is her dead-eyed composure in front of goal, which she showed for the second straight Csiki Girls game as she netted in the 20th minute. The girl is already a hero to the Csiki fans.
The away goals advantage Bröker’s goal had created was nearly wiped out just two minutes later, only for Frank Redkard to deny Red Dead Head’s strike. That would prove crucial as the visitors created few chances in a tight match, not enough for them to really complain about the single goal defeat which sent Csiki Girls through on away goals.
Round 3 pits The Csiki’s up against one of Velvet Android’s rivals, Division 1a side Johnstone Cougars. Whether the home side for the opening leg will include Elly Granheim or not is touch-and-go as she was stretchered off from the Red Dead home game with an 8-day injury.

A reversed seeding situation was in effect in Coxy Ladies Wulpen meeting with FC Rosengård as The Waders started away against a side from the tier above themselves.
Wulpen were on the back foot for most of the first half, but thought they had snatched the lead against the run of play when Ursula Madjarevic found the target in the 24th minute. That was disallowed, but Madjarevic got confidence from the finish and when another chance presented itself after a 54th minute corner she finished coolly.
That was The Waders first legitimate shot of the match against four-to-date by their hosts, so the goal was rather against the run of play. And it wasn’t a lead Janik’s side would hold for long, Rosengård equalising within five minutes. However Coxy Ladies came again, and were awarded a penalty in the 74th minute, veteran Moreen Mahony tucking it away with no fuss.
An unlikely win seemed in the offing, but Wulpen had reckoned without their hosts and also without referee Travis Tee who evened things up with penalty for Rosengård just four minutes after the one for the visitors. That was converted and four minutes later the turnaround was complete as the hosts moved ahead for the first time.
That was how it remained, but two away goals did set The Waders up nicely for the return in Flanders. That proved to be a rather more cagey game, with fewer cumulative chances in it than there were goals in the opening game. But that isn’t to say it was a stalemate. No, there was one breakthrough on 31 minutes, and it came for the Belgians, Laetitia Roosens poking home her first career goal after a Moreen Mahony free-kick had caused confusion in the Rosengård defence.
1-0 on the night meant advancement on away goals and two matches against another of VA’s Division 1a foes,Sadnecessary. The first leg will be at the Curlew’s Nest.

Round 2 brought a big ask for Sockford Emollient after they were paired with fourth-tier Fjollträsk BK.
The first leg took place at John Spencer Street, with the aim being the typical one for such situations – keep it tight and try and keep the tie alive until the second leg. An opening goal for Fjollträsk after just 13 mintues would have been a worrying sign for Gatorsharks boss Foxy265, but following that his side did a fine job of stymieing their opposition. Just two more chances were given up in the match, but unfortunately one of these was converted. 0-2 is just still about alive. Just.
The Gatorsharks needed pretty well every bit of lucky going if they wanted to win the second leg. They didn’t get it, Donya Antonellini having a goal disallowed. That said Antonellini’s effort was late on, and by then Fjollträsk were two to the good on the night and miles clear overall. Over the two legs the better side had progressed, no shame in Emollient losing to this lot.

The hill appeared even bigger for Solent Sirens as they faced another costal team in Catalanes F.C., who play in Division 2.
The opening match took place on the Southern English coast, with the Mayfield Park crowd filing in with hopes but also trepidation. They had something to shout about almost immediately as Marlene Stieglecker blasted in the opener from range with just 3 minutes on the clock. The Sirens took immense belief from that and put together a very good first half performance, but then got hit by a sucker punch towards the end of the period as Catalanes equalised very much against the run of play.
In fact Solent had 62% and created 5-2 chances in the opening period, which made for a positive half-time teamtalk from boss Andrew7610 along the lines of “Keep doing what we are doing, it will come good!” There may have been a feeling amongst the more fatalistic Sirens fans that the opposite was true, that their side had blown the opportunity but that was swiftly dissipated when Simone de Beauvoir headed them back in front seconds after the restart.
Again this settled Solent down, and they once again took the game to their illustrious visitors. The scoreline remained locked at 2-1 though despite The Sirens chances, up until the last minute of normal time when a ball ricocheted off the post, back into Catalanes defender Sophie Malmberg and nestled in the visitors net. This sparked major celebrations, which only got more favoured when Stieglecker pounced on a ball after a corner to make it 4-1 and leave the Catalans shell-shocked.
To be fair to the Solent girls, the other stats merited their three goal advantage going into the second leg, with the only niggle being the away goal conceded.
The Sirens were halfway to producing a major shock, but could they keep their nerve in the return in the face of an expected Catalanes barrage? You better believe they could, as Solent put in a solid first half that they shaded. They then realised at the interval that their opponents were far from all that, and were there for the taking. So they did, de Beauvoir lasering a shot home from 25 yards to give her side the lead on the night in the 53rd minute.
Catalanes were very much on the back foot, and it took referee Al Beback handing them a way back into the game with a dubious free-kick awarded in shooting position to keep the hosts involved at all. But they were clinging on at this stage, as two more goals were still needed but with the threat that is Solent scored again to have an away goals advantage, that was game over. And game over it was in the 87th minute when the second long range blast of the day found the target, this time from the boot of Stieglecker.
Not only had Solent won, but they had done so comprehensively, 6-2 on aggregate. Let us hope they can pull out similar in Round 3 against Division 3f opponents Victorious Secret. The first leg is again on the road, with the decider at Mayfield Park.

Kanjeng Ratu Kidul WFC were the lower league status side in their match with Division 4 club Sport Autobús but also the higher seeds, with the opening leg being played at Sport’s Parada ground.
The first leg proved to be a pretty even contest with little to choose between the sides, though Sea Spirits fans would argue that their team had shaded the opening half. The interval scoreline arguably agreed with that position, standing at 1-1 thanks to a Sport opener on 36 minutes and Leila Azeite’s free-kick equaliser on 44, which, due to the away goals rule, put SeanoftheShed’s side fractionally ahead as with the play.
The second period didn’t pan out quite the same way, with two refereeing decisions to the fore. First, on 83 minutes, Adèle Pailloux was shown a straight red card, her first dismissal in over 100 appearances for The Sea Goddesses. Referee Donald Scott doubled-down on this in stoppage time when he also awarded Sport a penalty that they scored to claim a narrow first leg lead. Someone is off the Kanjeng greetings cards list!
Kanjeng were fired by a sense of injustice for the return, and also by the knowledge that their away goal from the opening leg meant that 1-0 would be enough to go through. The Sea Spirits got to that stage on 54 minutes, Rahma Ikmal finishing coolly after being set clear. One more goal on top of that was insurance, which was provided by the most frustrated player of all, Pailloux making up for her dismissal in the opening leg by turning home Jennifer Willockx’s 66th minute pull-back.
That was how it remained as Kanjeng became the fifth OTF side through to Round 3. They will play Harley Quinns of Division 5:29 in that, the first leg being in Indonesia.

Solid CRs for Les Sangliers in the Human League* and Nakuru Warthogs in the J4GL. A smattering of DJs and only one announced retirement.

*which has two new recruits and so is up to a full complement of fifty teams. Season rollover soon.

Mixed bag for Hammerpot, which is no surprise as our DVs were, like the team in general, garbage this season. Jennifer Hayward jumped, which ups her value a bit ahead of her pending sale, so that was something at least.

A decent CR for Holkham, with two doubles and all the jumps we could have reasonably expected elsewhere. With one retirement announced and one makeweight in the squad, we need to add one or two.

Colusion, Sits. Spell it like Trump, we all know he's bigly awesome at speling.

Just had reason to post the below in the J4GL's admin forum after seeing the identity of the latest managerial arrival there:
Hmmmm. I don't want to get into the business of throwing around unflattering slanders nor tarring people unfairly, but may I please advise keeping a wee bit of a weather eye on the former FC Barca, now Fenerbahçe SK?

New manager Sel_Ayan is someone I've had reason to view with suspicion from his time in the Xpert Zone: he seems to bear a marked resemblance to someone (Avare) who was banned from the game after winning the title there twice in a row with another 'Fenerbahçe', having risen like a rocket from the lowest tiers, as he was revealed to be using multiple accounts to trade with himself.

Both ('both'?) of them name(d) all of their private-league teams Fenerbahçe, and if you look at the Players In and Players Out pages for any of those clubs you saw/will see the same thing happening. Each team at any given time is made up of a collection of highly-skilled, usually mature players... who have almost all been signed only recently, because there's a remarkable near-continuous throughput that sees a continual stream of dozens and dozens of players leaving for multi-million-econ fees. Literally one every few days on average, for month after month, for a combined tally in the hundreds of millions of econs.

The pattern would seem to be that just about everyone in their present squad will get sold off very quickly, a whole new batch will get bought in with some of the profits, and in about three months' time they in turn will get sold on for serious money and it will ratchet up from there. After reaching the stage where players can be bought for eight-figure fees there appears to be no reason for continuing the process, as after this point the squad is not actually being improved any further by changing up the personnel -- yet the auctions proceed unabated, with top-quality players barely stopping in the side for a cup of coffee before they are flogged on again.

I realise this is all only circumstantial, and there may be a perfectly sensible and reasonable explanation for how and why he keeps up this continual 'churn' of players. But in the interests of fairness to everyone else in this league I can't just let this managerial arrival pass unremarked, and I would advise that you at least keep an eye on what the current makeup of the squad there is, if they get sold imminently and how much for, and what happens next.
Then just now I noticed his opening gambit has already been made in the Direct Transfers forum (his boldface, not mine):
All my players are for sale.

                              I want market value.

Send a message if you have the player you like.
It begins. I feel rather sick at the sight of this.

Oh, that's not good VA. On the plus side, I guess it at least creates the opportunity to observe from the beginning of one of his 'projects' and try to garner evidence for Wayne to (hopefully) reconsider. Was it Sits who raised this with him before to be told there was nothing untoward going on?

After narrowly escaping relegation the Suffragettes have made what's usually described as a statement of intent by paying 4m for 32/16 midfielder Duleep Singh with Fawcett retiring.

                                    Sophia Duleep Singh, though, surely?

I was just using her surname but I wasn't sure whether Singh or Duleep Singh was correct.

Yes. At least CPI_46 redeemed himself to some considerable extent by sacking Sel_ayan from the Xpert Zone after deciding he must be cheating.

Just seen your new comment in the J4GL's transfers forum in response to Sel_Ayan, Sits. For everyone else's enjoyment, Mr Remote has left the following, slightly arch but delicately-put query:
There are quite a few good players in your new squad. Don't you want to build a new squad round those and sell the rest?
I look forward to seeing if you get any response!

And SdR, yes indeed – I immediately took screenshots of his starting squad, Players In and Players Out pages when I saw he'd taken over. We'll know in about 3 months if the familiar pattern is kicking in fully, then observe further to try to work out if he's being truly nefarious.
                                          Er, Sel_Ayan, not Sits.

Incidentally, after taking over that club and offering up his entire squad for sale he messaged the admin RichardSP a day later to ask to take over Barking's newly-vacated Championship side Caffé Treviso. He was met with short shrift. As I put it in the admin forum, agreeing with this rebuffing, if he was willing to climb the pyramid from the basement division yesterday then he can blinking well remain so today.

Viking South Utsira were looking to continue the run that had taken them to the top of Division 1a when they visited Just wait.
The opening half was tight, with just one scoring opportunity in it. That came for The Blood Eagles, but was against the run of play, or at least possession. With both teams packing the midfield, the opening goal was going to be crucial and it went against Velvet Android’s team when the hosts struck on 58 minutes. Any chances Viking had of turning the situation around evaporated two minutes later when Just wait added a second.
Defeat sees Utsira drop three places to fourth in the table, but only two points behind the new leaders.

Drakaina also had a top spot to defend when they took on Gretna Girls FC.
There was little for the Delphi crowd to shout about during a chanceless first half, but they didn’t have to wait long for that to be rectified in the second, Fionulla Mourne heading home seconds after the restart. After that the game reverted to its previous moribund state, with The Dragons not creating another chance. It looked like they wouldn’t need to as the 1-0 lead lasted into stoppage time, but then at the very last gasp Gretna levelled to snatch a draw.
Despite the two points dropped, The Dragons remain top of Division 4i on goal difference as the only side to win in this round of were Immortal Angels, who had started the day pointless and bottom of the table!

A full blown top-of-the-table clash pitted our third OTF league leader, Csiki Girls against Womanchester United.
This one proved to be a stalemate through as the two sides defences were on top. The first half featured one shot by the Csiki Girls (and a disallowed Womanchester goal), the second one attempt by the visitors. Neither were successful. The main legacy that Csiki Girls’ manager Ad Hoc will take from the game is a negative one, though as his skipper, Emelie Gränsmark, picked up a horrible 26-day injury on the stroke of half-time.
With Csiki Girls and Womanchester taking points of each other Cowgirls IF were able to sneak past both to take top spot in Division 4p. Csiki Girls now sit second, by -1 GD.

Another top-of-the-table clash featuring an OTF Divisional leader pitted Erbil against FBC Luja.
This one also reached the interval scoreless, but did so in quite a different manner from the other games as Erbil had dominated possession, if not chances (two attempt). Jdsx’s side ramped things up after the break, with Sharyn Bullock particularly to the fore as she scored twice on 53 and 58 minutes. That set the platform for Erbil to control the rest of the match, adding a further goal on 82 minutes for good measure when Leslie Levein fired in from distance.
Victory extended Erbil’s advantage at the top of the Division 5:16 standings to three points and +6 GD.

This is becoming repetitive. Top-of-the-table clash. OTF managed side involved. But in this case LNWR Locomotive were the ones looking to leapfrog Watergate Bay Surfers.
The Steamers suffered an early setback when Tekla Severinsson put through her own net on 17 minutes, but Viktor Boskovic’s side were level just past the half-hour through Charlotte Nixon’s direct free-kick.
Those were just two of the three first-half chances as both sides showed sharp finishing, a trend that would continue after the interval. This time it was Locomotive who moved in front. It stemmed from another Nixon free-kick, this time picking out Corália Vilhena to finish but The Steamers advantage only lasted for two minutes before Watergate levelled. The hosts had two goals on two shots on a bad day for the LNWR ‘keepers (plural as Maral Parseghian replaced Ahu Gültag at 1-0 down due to a minor injury).
Despite both dropping points, these sides remain the top two in Division 5:17, i.e. The Steamers sit second.

Momentum had been building slowly for Coxy Ladies Wulpen ahead of their trip to bottom-of-the-table Wheelies Wobblers.
The Waders were quickly into their stride here, Zoe Leroy firing directly- home from a free-kick after 7 minutes. She repeated the trick on 31 to give Wulpen breathing room that allow eth Beligans to steer their way comfortably home, Laetitia Vandenbergh’s 89th minute effort a cherry on top.
The day was not without its downsides for Janik’s outfit, though. It ended on a sour note when Zara Carey, a renowned mardy one, got herself stupidly sent off in stoppage time with her side three to the good. However of longer term consequence was the 20-day injury suffered by Noémie Kerckhoeven in the first half.
Kerckhoeven will miss a couple of weeks of Wulpen trying to build upon their current fourth place in the Division 5:18 table.

Back-to-back defeats for Ullapool Northern Star meant they travelled to Northern Soul Ladies looking for a result to get them going again.
Delicatemoth’s side had an unfortunate start though, falling behind after just 3 minutes play. It looked like things had got worse later in the first half, but ref Frank Redkard disallowed a ‘second’ for Northern Soul. He infuriated the home fans further just after the break when he pointed to the spot, Sonia Menashi converting to draw Ullapool level.
Northern Star remained on the backfoot despite being on terms, though they were denying their hosts the space to play. Few chances were created, the next opportunity arriving for Northern Soul on 80 minutes. Sadly, they scored it. The Scots heads dropped at this point, conceding a third five minutes later and seeing Babette Späth sent off in stoppage time after she got a second yellow for a tired challenge.
The loss leaves Ullapool bottom of Division 5:19, three points from safety in what is increasingly looking like a tough season.

Kanjeng Ratu Kidul WFC (top) away at Husmorskolen (bottom). Easy right?
Well, sort of. The Sea Spirits were clearly the better side throughout, despite losing Adèle Pailloux to a 9-day injury after 31 minutes. Goals were slightly slow to arrive, but they finally came for SeanoftheShed’s girls on 58 and 77 minutes through Dewi Daffa and Diksha Dalmiya respectively.
However they never truly broke free of the shackles and gave the hosts the pasting the gap between the sides merited, and also the bottom-feeding manager of Husmorskolen (sexist kits) deserves. It didn’t even finish 2-0 as Husmorskolen got a penalty deep into stoppage time. Scoring it (which they did) was never going to be the catalyst for turning the match around but it did make the scoreline more acceptable, which is not what one would say about the hosts clothing options.
Kanjeng stay top of the Division 5:21. They have a three point lead on the best of the rest.

Unbeaten but also winless Zeugma Dostluk Spor were on the road at Angelic Upstarts for their fourth Division 5:27 match.
For an hour of this one, basically nothing happened. Zeugma had a first half chance, but that was the only memorable thing to happen. Things rather changed on 62 minutes though, as that was when Zeugma skipper and key defender Ophelia Blatherwick went down with a 17-day injury. That is the second such long-term knock suffered by Antepli Ejderha’s defence in recent weeks.
Following Blatherwick’s departure the balance of play swung towards the hosts, and they went ahead on 81 minutes. However Zeugma were not done, levelling just seven minutes later via Stacey Bell’s header from a corner. That looked to have secured a fourth successive draw for the Anatolians, but the sequence was to be broke by an injury-time strike for... Angelic Upstars. Oh. Blast.
Defeat leaves Zeugma sixth in the 5:27 standings, three points from safety.

A first goal last week was the minor beginning for Dublin City WFC’s season proper. Now that that initial hurdle was overcome, could they claim something more at ... because Girls Can.
The chances for Mortal Joe’s side were not helped by a terrible 26-day injury suffered by Ana Isabel Carreto midway through the first half. In her absence Dublin failed to convert any of their four chances, but at least they were not open at the back as the hosts did not register themselves either, the game petering out into a goalless draw.
All the action in this section appeared to be concentrated at Menywod Maeshafn instead.
The Welsh side were taking on The Anarchists, who prior to the game propped up the table that Maeshafn lead. The visitors hopes mostly revolved around keeping it tight, so they completely unravelled when Ana Raquel Sameiro and Simone Kjellberg scored within two minutes of each other either side of the twentieth. Raquel Sameiro’s strike, a header on 19 minutes, was the defenders first for the club.
Kjellberg added a second before the break, at which point it just became a question of ‘how many’. Six as it would turn out, thanks to further strikes from Katherine Barker (48), Shelly Gibbs (62) and Ada Westerberg (64). The visitors did net a consolation late on, much to the annoyance of Maeshafn ‘keeper Laure Betheau.
How does that leave the Division 5:29 standings? Well, Maeshafn still boast a 100% record, and are not just top but five points clear of second spot. Dublin are off the mark for points as well as goals now, but remain seventh in the table despite that and are five points from safety.

After an lucky loss last time out, Sockford Emollient were looking to bounce straight back at Dav Dolls.
The Gatorsharks initial press was rewarded with an 11th minute opener from Alexia Batistuta, who fired in from range. The side stalled after that though and were hit by an equaliser on 44 minutes. Over the piece Foxy265’s side had the better of it, but they just could not pry the Dolls defence open often enough to net a winning goal their play deserved.
The draw left Emollient fourth in the Division 6:40 table, five points adrift of the top two sides.

Recent improvements meant that Invisible Ladies travelled to Division 6:41 leaders Luculenus LFC with hopes high.
These were deflated in rapid order, Luculenus scoring within two minutes and doubling the advantage after 14. The See-Throughs were still just about in the game at this point, but the writing was on the wall for Pebblethefish’s girls after Luculenus made it three on 25 minutes and Beáta Nádasdy’s strike ‘back’ five minutes later was chalked off by Al Reddy.
3-0 it finished, a result that see Invisible drop to fourth in the table, five points behind the leaders and in the wake of second three points.

SouthdownRebel’s Riverbankers FC were looking to break the pattern of recent weeks against Tagalog Ladys.
That normal run of play involves the under strength front six of The Bankies being overrun and the strong defence not allowing too many chances for the opposition, but usually enough for them to win the game. And yep, it was that again this time, Tagalog having 63% of the ball, only making four chances, but scoring three of them.
Three points from the first three games meant that Solent Sirens really needed to beat a Perfect Ladies with the same mediocre opening.
At least that was the view of Simone de Beauvoir, and she set about making sure it happened. Damn sure. Completely an utterly sure. There was a direct free-kick after 10 minutes, a long range shot on 17, another direct free-kick after 23 and a penalty won and converted herself on 43 minutes. Football is a team game? Yeah, right...
The humiliation was all too much for Perfect’s Cathleen-Eve Cumming who decided to lamp de Beauvoir as the teams were going on for halfway (the incident was later dismissed as a literary disagreement). There was already no chance of Perfect coming back, but this made it even easier for The Sirens who cruised through the second half, Jin-Ae Hyeong adding a brace on 49 and 61 minutes to make the final score 6-0 in favour of Andrew7610’s charges.
Our third and final match in Division 6:42 this week saw Witches of Chiswick taking on Söderbönerna.
The Swedish side with an Indian location had beaten Solent the previous week and were off to a flier again when they took the lead on 6 minutes. However The Bewitched dug in, and prevented the score getting any worse by half-time. In fact it might have got better if Mari Kurisawa’s 16th minute effort had not been disallowed.
Kurihawa would not be denied again, heading home a corner in the 61st minute then, following a quick check on ref Al Reddy, wheeling away to celebrate. It would prove to be the only legitimate attempt that Chiswick managed all game as they got a backs-to-the-wall point, and that despite going down to 10 for the last few minutes after young defender Chieko Ichihara got injured (8 days) after boss Wiblflibl had made his final substitution.
The effects of all this on the 6:42 table were to lift Solent up to fourth, three points behind the play-off spot, The Bewitched dropping to sixth, two points behind The Sirens and Riverbankers remaining propping things up with no points on board as yet.

Angmering Park entered the penultimate round of the season knowing that they were virtually assured of safety but that their promotion prospects were also hanging by a thread. However, their visitors were three points above them in third place, so there was at least the opportunity to make things interesting on the final day.

Stonebackheads FC had taken the points in the first encounter between the two teams back in May, so Park were looking to turn the tables at the Dover. However, they also had half an eye on giving youth its chance and so 17 year old striker Michael Cahill was given the start. Veteran defender Izydor Schetynski was sitting the game out through suspension, meaning that Adolfo Baroja took his place.

The match did not start well for the visitors. On four minutes, striker Janne Hellqvist was injured and had to be substituted. Three minutes later, they were behind as Angmering Park capitalised on the disruption. Edgar van Hintum's cross was met by the head of Ewansiha Ogocha after a late run from midfield. The game then settled into a steady rhythm until 32 minutes when another injury further damaged Stonebackheads' chances. This time it was captain David Pethick, who was stretchered off and left a major hole in the defence.

However, the momentum of the match turned on 41 minutes when Ceyhun Genc put through his own net to level the scores. In they went at half time with nothing to choose between the two teams.

Park increased the tempo following the break, Cahill being replaced by regular starter Oscar Alenlöv, and they retook the lead after 53 minutes. Ogocha repeated his earlier effort with the same result, Genc going some way to make amends for his earlier error by providing the assist. However, the dogged Stonebackheads hit back again and 10 minutes later they were level once more, Ekander firing in from range. By this time, however, Park were controlling the midfield and creating more chances. With 15 minutes remaining, Alenlöv managed to break the offside trap and slot home from Jack Upperton's through ball. This time, Park would not relinquish their advantage and took the win 3-2.
