    It's National Tea Day!

...and I have a pot stewing.
Normal non-poncy non-perfumed teabags in a warmed pot, let stand for 5 minutes plus, FULL FAT milk in first and pour when it is your preferred shade of mahogany, sugar to taste, always with a biscuit, chocolate or cake

I prefer to call it National Hot Beverage Day because I hate tea almost as much as I HATETHISCOUNTRY.

In principle though, in tea as in life, the 'poncier' and more perfumed the better.

This thread is going to be a disaster, I can see it now.

It's certainly brewing up to that.

Better to just leaf it alone.

It hasn't gone to pot just yet but may well turn out to be PG rated.

Yorkshire Tea, two smallish teaspoons of unrefined sugar, semi-skimmed milk in afterwards (I'm not some kind of psychopath). And crucially, a Burnley FC mug. The mug is important. Tea is best served in a mug, maybe with Worlds Greatest Golfer/Dad on the side. Stained with five months worth of tannins from just running under a cold tap to wash it out.

Typical dunderheadery from a self-confessed tea hata.

Snake is obviously just taking the piss with his post however his point about tannins is a good one. Never wash a tea pot. The tannin build up adds to the taste.

Although we have common ground on the tannin thing, it does not alter the fact that you, sir, are worse than Hitler.

The only thing worse than people who put the milk in first is people who care about whether people put the milk in first or not.

And the only thing worse than them is people who comment on how stupid it all is and think it's somehow amusing.

                              Ah, balls.

                                      Hopefully "furred" tannin deposits there?

That would require the mug being empty enough for it to grow.

The best tea is made with coffee beans. No milk, no sugar.

Tea made with "leaves" or "bags" is an undrinkable abomination.

To be honest, "stewing" is probably a bit strong (in both senses of the word) but I was temporarily at a loss for the word "brew"
