Glamorgan doing much better today, rattling along at four an over against Worcs. True, they have lost 5 wickets in 17 overs, but that is a detail.

So. With the start of the RL 50ov competition this weekend, anyone else taking in any "weekend match-going"?

Off to TB for Notts v Yorks.

                Stunning result from Taunton there

Meanwhile, today's game embarrassingly one sided.

Notts very poor with the bat and in the field.

One day hat trick for Jerome Taylor (Sussex v Essex). Essex still get 295-7, on the back of Cook and ten Doeschate. Bizarre bit of cricket where tenD hit a huge skyer virtually straight up, and the bowler tried to catch it instead of the keeper. He dropped it, and tenD whacked another 62 runs.

Hundreds for both Cook and tenD.

Isn't it written in law that making someone captain means their form goes to shit? Clearly someone needs to point this out to Ballance.

I think it is more common for it to have a positive initial impact, before subsequently going to shit.

Chris Read is a better batsman than I remember. 61 off 38 v Durham, who have Wood bowling for them.

Darren Stevens, who must be older than me, is marmalising Glamorgan at Swansea.

Might have jinxed him, just gone for 147 off 67 balls. While Kent are favourites, it's been such a lone hand that we could still win from here.

On what was always going to be a depressing Monday at work, I thought that the one bright spot would be clicking refresh on the Notts v Glamorgan score to see how much we were going to win by.

6th wicket partnership for Glamorgan now up to 130 off 51 overs...

Sorry, pebble, but Cooke and Ingram have been just about my only highlight today.

Ingram and Cooke bat all day to get the draw (Ingram batted most of yesterday too). Not bad against a pretty decent Notts attack - including Broad, who went wicketless in the innings.

I was planning to come on here a couple of hours back to crow about Surrey being 31-5 at Chelmsford. But then Sangakkare got going and it's now 131-5.

Pleasingly, last season's spawny bastards Hampshire getting another going over, this time at Taunton. It'd be a shame if Jack Leach doesn't see international action by the end of the summer.

So, Lancashire choosing to bat on a overcast and muggy day at Headingley, then.

Ben Coad up to 26 Championship wickets for the season, hope England don't notice.

Been to Headingley today, good crowd for the Roses match in the sunshine. Yorkshire might feel they should have got a few more runs, not much from the tail this time.

Lyth batted well for his ton, got marooned in the 90s for a while when he lost strike. First time I've seen Saqib Mahmood bowl, nice action and pacey, line was a bit off though. Lancashire's ground fielding was a bit scrappy.

Brooks bowled well for us, late movement as the clouds rolled in, we had four slips for a long time. Chanderpaul was obdurate.

Thanks to overs being carried over from yesterday, no spinners being used by either side and the innings break falling at tea the final session lasted a whopping 48 overs. There were still four of them left when I came out just after 7pm.
