Severino needs to pitch well and so will Tanaka. As JV said, the Yankees need to beat either Kuechel or Verlander. But right now those two are functioning as Cleveland 2016 part II.
Cubs just can't hit. It's a bad time to slump, but the Dodgers pitchers are doing the business and hitters are really taking advantage of mistakes. I'm glad we're seeing the Dodgers from July/early August instead of the late season Dodgers. I was worried that they could not turn it back on but so far they have. And as I type that Dodgers win 6-1 and take a 3-0 lead. Can't see the Cubs coming back from that.
The Yankees are scary right now. I feel like Houston needs to jump out front early in Game 6, or they're going to lose the mental game and fall apart.
A nervy Dodgers-Cubs game last night, with all of the runs scored coming on solo HRs, so neither team really got into a groove against the opposing pitcher that they could use to try to put the game away. The main talking point will be a crazy review in which Curtis Granderson struck out swinging, but the home plate ump reversed it as being a foul tip after consulting with his crew. The call wasn't reviewable under replay rules, but the replay show that the ball was nowhere near the bat. Maddon got tossed, meanwhile everyone in Dodgerland knew that Granderson would just whiff on the next pitch anyway (which is what did happen), so why argue and get tossed from the game? Maybe he wanted to fire up the team. Anyway, Granderson struck out on his fourth strike of the at bat.
Justin Turner now has over 100 postseason ABs, and has a .495 career on-base percentage in the postseason. That's higher that Gehrig and Ruth.

Inca, if it’s yer boyz and Los Yanquis, I’m bleeding Dodger Blue.
Thanks, that means a lot because I know how that must pain you. Sorry to you and GY...I know these drubbings aren't fun to be on the end of. It almost feels like Kiké Hernandez has been possessed by 29 years of Dodger frustration and he's single-handedly trying to put it to rest.

I'd pretty much given up on the game beforehand anyway, especially with Kershaw pitching. We've not played well all post-season, and the Dodgers have, so it's not like we deserved to get anything out of it.
No matter who won or lost, I think one thing we can agree on is that it's nice to have the NLCS over because it means we won't have to listen to Ron Darling anymore.
So, if one was coincidentally in LA for World Series week and HUGE IF the Dodgers got there - how would they sell tickets for the home games given there will be a necessarily tight turnaround time from the pennant games? I can't imagine they are all spoken for with season tickets and the like.
So I've got various feelers out but any further hints or angles on tickets would be welcome.
I haven't heard of anything yet, but I'm guessing there may also be some public viewings. Prices on StubHub are also around $1,000 for the cheapest seats.
So the first five games in the American League's big one have all gone to the home team. Are Houston favourites at this point despite losing three in a row then?
