It may have come up before I started listening to the hearing, but Davis sort of addressed the general topic when talking about agreements to be signed during the transition, and was considerably more cautious. He said Trudeau and Abe had both told the government they wanted to have similar agreements with the UK that they were agreeing with the the EU

Similar sounds like "now, there's just this one thing..." to me.

Given the deal with the EU took seven years to complete, and Canadian trade negotiators are currently up to their asses in more important alligators (cf: NAFTA) i wouldn't expect much joy from this side of the Atlantic anytime soon.

Lisa Nandy still refusing to front up to her more gullible constituents about Brexit. They voted for something called "dignity" and somewhere called "London" (obviously different from the actual place called London where Labour has 49 MPs) is pulling a fast one on them.

Yes, the current Brexit situation is clearly a sign of decisions being made by London for London. Now, if she'd said "Oxfordshire", maybe.

Wigan is not an easy place to sell the fact Brexit will shaft the town even more. There are huge concerns about immigration despite being a place with hardly any. That they are angry and feel left behind, i do not doubt but they are also dreadfully led down a dark road by widespread misinformation.

Nandy is not helping with that rethoric

I don't know why she can't just say "Tory Hard Right" or something.

Angela Smith (Peniston and Stockbridge) is telling her strongly Leave constituents the truth, and did so before the election which she nearly lost. But I can't see many others.

That article is very good. I like that the only time she swears is when she's talking about the Big Ben controversy. That came from nowhere. The Irish people I know in the UK are considerably more sweary, but would probably agree with every single word. One of my friends has already moved home, and her English husband is going to know everyone in Cork Airport by name, coz his work is very much in the UK. (He is among other things Agent for someone who is regularly discussed on the Chart Music podcast)

They should be all the more grateful we want to let them in. Ireland speaks English, and we don't include them.

Well not until yer pal Kevin Hague sweet talks those posturing 26 county pseudo rebels into reuniting These Islands under Regina. I’d really like to know all the sources of funding for Hague’s new whizz Think Tank. And of course Tom Holland is pure loving this Robust Case for Cultural Unionism. That’s a rocky road to walk down if you want to honestly look at Irish history unvarnished (with classic Sensible British tin ears, the entire island of Ireland is included on their logo) let alone the countless other bigger sins (if none as long lasting barring Poor Wales maybe) of Bastard Ugly Empire.

I saw that. Looked like they were passing over Northern Ireland. I've never seen Hague mention it before.

Nigel Farage isn't happy with Bloomberg or Lloyd Blankfein. "What is it with the American super-rich and Brexit?" he asks, with no self-awareness at all. He then says they're ignorant because they're "not British".

There the freeview ends, though I'm not expecting any comment on the substance of Blankfein's tweet about moving business to Frankfurt.

Ah, they are going to Belfast. They might be downgrading it rather soon.

I've recently come across Tricia Marwick on Twitter. I'm guessing the SNP weren't unhappy to see her walk out.

Oh no there are going to have symposia in all the regional client capitals, Belfast, not just Cardiff. They are either going to start playing Jaffa card with all the nasty shit that goes with it or just make a total arse of themselves. Most Scots like Embra side Hague know or understand nothing of the Dark North. And Kev’s new compadres from Larkhall or Airdrie, their nuanced understanding of the Irish Question may be a bit lacking.

There was some article today on the site warning Scots to cleave tightly to Britannia’s subsidizing teat lest the bedbugs bite. And also made very questionable assertions re Ireland and jumping to Independence from snuggly Empire for smells and bells cassock tugging atavistic nationalism. And that the British operations in the North were at worst misguided, always conducted with the intention of Furthering Democracy. Kev didn’t write it, was some scarey starey Oxford Prof, but his link to it was pretty gushing (If with the “I May not agree with all of it “ get out).

                                      edit: like you said.

Her niece(?) is up on the charges former MP Natalie McGarry. The klepto and/or numpty wing of Broad Church SNP.

She was quite a good Presiding Officer at Holyrood but. Couldn’t go mad on the tweet machine back then of course.

The funny thing with him, as a "just the numbers" sort is that he hasn't said much about Soft Brexit. It's exactly the sort of thing you'd expect him to be pushing, and it's a nice get out for a Unionist from any difficult questions about Ireland. "Well, if it were up to me..."

                                              From Brexit Central.

Brexit should cut queues at Dover, not create them
Although it is seldom acknowledged, membership of the Customs Union actually exacerbates this congestion. In a paper published by the (now defunct) UKIP Parliamentary Resource Unit last year (archived here), Mark Reckless and I* explained that EU trade barriers artificially increase the volume of road freight that travels from Continental Europe to the UK, thus intensifying demand on motorways in Kent. Far from provoking gridlock, Brexit is likely to alleviate some of this pressure over time. Here’s why. One of the effects of Customs Union membership, as Patrick Minford has written, is trade diversion. The EU’s Common External Tariff artificially raises the prices of products from the rest of the world – especially industrial and agricultural goods – and makes the equivalent EU-made products more competitive. Consequently, Brits buy more goods from EU countries, relative to the rest of the world, than they otherwise would.
The numpty who wrote that "served as a speechwriter to Douglas Carswell".

No, I've no idea which ports and motorways the trade "from the rest of the world" is supposed to use, either.

Hague claims to be SLab, but I’d say Leonard beating Sarwar will be the Moment that leads him to the clammy embrace of Ruth. I still remember Tory MSP Adam Tompkins sharing a stage with Tommy Sheridan arguing for a Scottish Socialist Republic. It’s a far smaller leap for an Uber centralist like Kev to become a Proper Blue.

And Hague probably has at core a magical faith in his BritNat fantasy of These Islands to “muddle through” Brexit, and sure, they wouldn’t possibly let it get too bad. Also, England is a far bigger market (right now) for Scottish exports!! So nyahh!! No taking into account what happens when the UK single market is a stinking pauper that can’t feed itself let alone invest in plant and modern infrastructure. Ireland was more dependent on exports to UK in 73 than Scotland is right now as England commits pointless suicide. Sturgeon was right about independence within the Single Market as Scotland’s medium term blast out of hell, but she should have been pulling the trigger now it’s obvious May fucked it, not June 2016.

Hague could go Tory, but Lib Dem might be a better fit. They've got a number cruncher very similar to him called Fraser White. Could be a team.
