Well, he was right about "unleashing demons" etc.

He unleashed them. When he came to power Europe was a marginal issue for most people.

Corbyn's Starmer's and McDonnell's Labour Party is doing a great job. Certainly there's no other credible route that I can see. Not only is it polling as high as any other party in Europe they are forcing the Conservative Party to own their mess. If there had been stomach or strategy for any other route Labour would have taken it.

The conservatives have refused any approaches on co-operation.

Completely unremarked upon by the commentariat.

          1. The Tories restored the whip to two MPs who had it withdrawn due to sexual allegations. Both said they would vote for May.
          2. Let's indulge the fantasy that May withdraws the backstop from the deal. The European Parliament, who have to vote on it, today put out a statement saying that removal of the backstop will be voted down. http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/e...-renegotiation

And May's Tories are polling better than Tories elsewhere. So what?

Rebecca Long-bailey's effort yesterday was, per Ian Dunt, spectacularly bad and technically impossible . She's not some rightwinger they have to have in there for unity. That's "The future of socialist leadership", per McDonnell.

Yes. The UK is in an enormous amount of trouble, and has been for quite some time.

What's your point Tubby? What do you want to happen now? Do you want to spend your time reading bus timetables? Ian Dunt was an active lexiter until about a year ago.

Forgive me if someone else has already said this, but we're talking about the perfide 1922 club here. Who's to say that all the 48 letters were from Brexiters?

What a perfect distraction from the fact that May is in an impasse and running around Europe with nowhere to go?

She gets a boost from nothing here if she wins big.

Anyway, we're all fucked with the crappy perceptions that are allowed to prevail in this ignorant bl

I want Labour to tell it how it is. No Single Market means getting something like May has, which will be disastrous. Stop talking about renegotiating because it's a gift to the ERG.

You can tell the truth and still let the government own it's shit.

It's a fuck up by the Hard Brexiteers if she wins because they cannot challenge her again for 12 months, by which time the UK will have stitched up some kind of deal.

Which is exactly my point. No one will ever know who sent the letters. May was in a total hole last night. This will give her new momentum, er, allow her to cling on until her deal goes through on March 28th.

200-117. That weakens her rather than strengthens I would say.

200-117. May wins but enough votes against to make it awkward.

Not even 2/3 of Tory MPs. That's pretty unimpressive.

Some of them will be very happy. "Well we got our timing wrong, but as [insert whatever happens] shows, we were right.".

Well theresa May is probably just delighted that she won, and doesn't have to ignore another vote.
