    Third Democratic pickup in PA-5.

    Twenty more needed.

PA de-gerrymandered a bit. Did that help?

Wexton's win over Comstock looks reassuringly comprehensive. Nearly all votes counted, 10 points up.

NBC looks to be calling races before others.

They've just called the Colorado governorship for Jay Polis, who would be the first openly gay governor in the country.

This guy - though he’s lost some weight since this article was written - is our new lieutenant governor.

In the good old days of print media, they'd be going to press in the East about now and running "Dismal Dems" headlines. While not exactly Dewey/Truman, in a couple of hours it could look quite different.

I'm still sober, if anyone's wondering.

And you know, if Ted Cruz does lose, that'll make it all OK, no?

Maybe in the boonies, but in New York, no one went to press until 2 am at the earliest, which is more than four hours away.

And that would have been the first of five regular editions (more for a night like tonight).

Even with our numerous Republican shitheads in California, election nights really drive home the feeling that we live in a different country.

Not that anyone should give them a gram of credibility, of course.

It had been a foregone conclusion, but still almost unbelievable news that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won. Time for a socialist caucus in Congress.

CNN also projecting Kobach's lost. This is cheering me up a lot.

Except when I remember than Rick Scott's likely disenfranchised the governorship and senate seat his way.

Two years ago, the prevailing wisdom was the Democrats would lose a lot of senate seats this time. Even if they can’t win it, is there more hope for 2020 or 2022?

Such a fucked up place. But I’m cautiously optimistic that this is white supremacy’s last desperate violent stand.

Keep your big mouth shut. Cruz has it, networks say.
