A lot of that with the governorships was cyclical. The Democrats had it tough in 2010 (with term limited governors) plus the Republican base turning out with Obamacare (which is easier to lie about than explain). Those governors got re-elected in 2014.


They ought to do better this year, with those Republican governors term-limited.

he isn't a Democrat. He's caucused with them, and ran for POTUS under their banner, but he's still an independent. So far as the Democratic party was concerned the last election was supposed to be Hillary's coronation. No one was supposed to seriously contest it, the fact he did so well is a major embarrassment.

I appreciate Sanders health policy would make them better off (if they were prepared to support it), but in terms of average people paying more tax, something like VAT? It's easy to be popular if you tell people someone else is going to pay for what they want.
