Christ almighty. Any chance of this gerrymandering becoming a national issue?

Well, it's up before the Supreme Court in Wisconsin and Maryland. But that's not exactly encouraging given the court's composition. As for it becoming an electoral issue, it doesn't seem that white voters care about it, or if they do, they like it.

                  Hello dear. Welcome to humanity.

                  Gohmert is a cunt.

                  Oh yeah. Net neutrality loses.

Note that Roy Moore, who just lost and molests children, actually has a higher favorable rating in AL than Ted Cruz has in TX.
Shame nobody's heard of Cruz likely challenger.

No one's heard of Beto O'Rourke in Texas? He's a Congressman, he's not that obscure.

Alabama has a pretty tiny Hispanic population, so you can pretty much spitball it by subtracting the black vote from the "everyone else" totals.

As to non-voters, it would be great if we could get them out, but I don't think it is wise to change the message in what is likely to be an unsuccessful quest.
It was a very successful quest in 2008.

Trying to get votes off Republicans is never going to work. If you're a white lady and you still vote Republican these days, you're probably a chud.

Get the base to turn out and attract people who are turned off by politics, as in the style of the Absolute Boy.

The Supreme Court of those states, or the US Supreme Court? Isn't Kennedy supposed to be anti-gerrymandering?

Per the poll Iglesias cited, 69% said "neither/don't know" for O'Rourke, Flynnie.

Didn't they get a lot of Republican voters in Virginia?

The US Supreme Court. Good discussion by Jeffrey Toobin in the New Yorker Politics and More Podcast in the last couple of weeks.

US Supreme Court. Kennedy didn't stop Roberts from gutting the VRA, so I wouldn't consider him anything like a reliable vote on gerrymandering, either in general or the specific cases. And he didn't really indicate much either way in the oral arguments for the case that has already been heard.

Interesting increase in self-identified "liberals" between 2016 and 2017. Up to 23% from 16%. Would be handy if Trump were creating big chunks of new liberals nationwide.

Strangely, 14% of these liberals voted for Moore.

So the Democrats should be going after the "everyone else" category with a good economic message.

No. Get the non-whites to vote... yes some will vote Republican, but not all.

Roy Moore still not conceding. In similar spirit, Joe Root's not conceded the 2nd test yet.
