It's the best tool I've seen for finding who represents a district, if nothing else.

Feinstein, Leahy and Durbin say the Senate Judiciary Committee have seen documents showing Kavanaugh misled the Senate in 2006.

"Tool" is an interesting word to use when talking about district representatives. But, republicans teach their children about difference, and how to vote.

So, 'tool' is definitely an interesting word.

I noticed yesterday that my Facebook profile has a link to update my voting registration. I took this to be a subtle strategy to get registration levels that better reflect the real national picture and suspect Trumpers will not be happy when they see it.

Is it an actual link, and not a 'doxxing' website, or whatever the 'fash'ionable kids are calling them these days?

Oh, there's a few Twitter protests on my timeline. Lots of people are leaving the site, because Alex Jones.

And there's one about getting your dog to wear stuff for ... ok, the one about the Fortune 500/250 (and possibly a 125cc version), and I am sure they will all be brought down.

ursus, I think* I just signed an 'arbitration clause'. Is there any way of changing my decision (without losing my job)?

              *I did, electronically.

Gero, first off, condolences on the loss of your brother.

It is very unlikely that your employer would allow you to opt out of that provision (or, indeed, hire anyone other than a senior executive who refused to accept it).

That said, it is possible that the clause is unenforceable, or would be unenforceable in the relevant circumstances, but that is almost certainly a question of Nevada law (about which I know nothing).

As it happens, there was a ruling yesterday that found a Trump campaign arbitration clause to be unenforceable w/r/t a harassment claim. That piece illustrates the kind of things judges look at in assessing such claims, and may be of general interest.

As SB mentioned, he and his minions would be near the top of my list for a serious Congressional investigation if the Democrats take control of the House.

The Wu Ming website has a couple of links to pieces about QAnon, particularly on whether they are anarchists inspired by the Luther Blissett novel "Q".

From what little I have read on QAnon I can see where this is coming from, and the it certainly fits into the model of there pranks from the 1990's. If you have not read "Q" then I would highly recommend it, an historical novel that mixes a John Le Carre spy-novel with radical 16th century proto-communism.

I am so staggered that Trumps lawyers took him at his word, and advocated an approach based on honesty being the best policy. Where does he find these people?

So, McGahn is John Dean and a rat, but there's also nothing to hide so there's nothing to rat about, and certainly nothing Nixonesque despite apparently John Dean. And the piece is fake anyway, even though he agrees that it's right.

I really should stop being concerned with the coherence of Trump's tweets.

More coherence, this time from Rudy!:

“When you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, well that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth,” Giuliani told Todd.

                                      “Truth is truth,” Todd responded.

“No, it isn’t truth,” Giuliani said. “Truth isn’t truth. The President of the United States says, “I didn’t …”

                                      Todd answered: “Truth isn’t truth?”

                                      Giuliani: “No, no.”

Todd said: “This is going to become a bad meme.“

I'm not sure it's the best position for a lawyer to take. My client might or might not be guilty, depending on the interpretation of the observer. It's impossible for me to say.

I’ve mentioned this before, but Rudy! hasn’t really practiced law for decades and certainly isn’t doing so now.

He admits that he hasn’t been in contact with the Mueller team and barely speaks to his “client”. His role is to fill air time and spew talking points like a fertilizer-spreading tractor run amok.

So, apparently the jury has sent a note to the judge asking what to do if they can't agree on one of the 18 charges.

Surely they're being asked to return a verdict on the 18 charges separately, no? Can't the give him 15 guilty and 3 not-guilty, for example?

They could, but the point is they (seemingly) can't reach a decision either way on one of them.

Right...but you can be hung on one of 18 charges, surely? Or no.
