Here's the German variety. Just read this in a New Yorker piece about Frauke Petry. Bernd Lucke, who founded the AfD primarily as an anti-Euro (currency) and anti-Greek bailout party, says he realised that Petry was scheming to replace him and give the party a more xenophobic focus when she refused to help him challenge deranged rumours circulating amongst party members. Apparently, one such rumour was that "Germany was not actually a state, but a registered company on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange".
