Have we reached a level of interest in the Premier League where the matchday discussions are all in one thread which maybe adds a page a week? There's more life in the EFL threads this season.
I wonder why this might have happened. Do we not want to admit that the heirarchy has reverted to type - that there will be no fairytale this season? Of course, the reason Leicester's title was a 'fairytale' is because that sort of thing so rarely happens - and we shouldn't expect it to again.
Though, oddly, neither have we discussed much their performance in the CL, which sees them with ten points from four games and almost certain qualification to the last 16. Opta says Leicester are the first CL debutants to open their campaign with four clean sheets.
Is it because the Premier League lost Newcastle, Villa and Norwich, and it turns out that dogbeak, Mr Beast and I were in fact the lifeblood of the board?
Answers on a postcard, or not. Either way, there's a North London Derby on Sunday, though no Saturday lunchtime game by the looks of things. And, at any rate, my armchair efforts will be in seeing if Norwich can bounce back from last week's humiliation.
Anyone watching Eastleigh v Swindon on BBC2? Home side started brighter of the two, but Swindon denied a goal by the lack of goal line technology (though it was a great 'save' by the keeper).
Hazard gives Chelsea the lead over Everton with a diagonal rocket which was probably offside. And as I type, Alonso scores with a shot through the keepers legs to make it 2-0.
They changed to a 3-4-3 that takes better advantage of Hazard, instead of having to sit outside and track fullbacks all day, he can drift around Costa, who, aside from being a prize prick, is really good at opening up space for other attacking players. Pedro also fits into it as well as it allows him to play something closer to what he did for Barcelona.
Another added benefit is that of letting David Luiz play a pseudo-Bonucci role of spraying the ball around from the back while also sticking two other defenders next to him to cover for when he inevitably does something silly.
For a comparison as to how Conte set up Italy in the Euros, they're playing very similarly to how Italy did after they went one-nil down to Germany in the QFs.
Leicester West Brom is so dull the commentator's inventing a clash of kits. West Brom couldn't wear their all blue away kit, for obvious reasons, but their home kit (predominantly white to everyone else's eyes) has navy blue stripes.
There was quite a blooter in the Boca Juniors game, too, from Sebastián Palacios to put them 3-0 up away to Gimnasia (which is how the game finished, meaning Boca managed their first away win in the league since mid February).
Sevilla v Barcelona lived up to expectations. When Sampaoli's actually had a good while with Sevilla they're going to be quite some team. And even by his standards Messi was sensational in the second half.
