The US National Park service is 100 years old today.
Happy Birthday. The greatest thing about the US government, and one of the greatest things about the US.

Some of the parks themselves (Yosemite and Yellowstone, notably) are older than the official NPS organisation, which might be why the centennial seems a bit odd to some.
The list of parks what I've been to:
Arches
Big Bend
Bryce Canyon
Canyonlands
Carlsbad Caverns
Crater Lake
Death Valley
Everglades
Glacier
Grand Canyon
Grand Tetons
Great Smoky Mountains
Joshua Tree
Kings Canyon (*)
Lassen Volcanic
Petrified Forest
Redwood
Rocky Mountain
Saguaro
Sequoia (*)
Shenandoah
Yellowstone
Yosemite
Zion
(*) These are about to be added on this summer's road trip in the Western Sierras.
