The discovery of Proxima Centauri b certainly raises the possibility of us visiting an exoplanet one day, doesn't it? Even if the journey might take generations (and so probably only achievable by robots), and any messages or TV pictures from the planet would take 4.2 years to come back. It's the closest one we're going to find, and surely a journey worth thinking about. Mars is cool, but imagine seeing pictures from a planet in another solar system ...
