    The range given for Radcliffe sounded like they were all over the shop, then we heard the values for a Russian athlete. It made Radcliffe look very clean.

    I've tried to find that interview but can't get it, it was on Channel 4 iirc.

      The key thing to remember is that blood values give significant amounts of false positives, and even more false negatives. You are often mistaking noise for signal, not really surprising because blood is such a complex substance that there is a hell of a lot of noise.
      There are strict regulations about when blood can be taken to try and smooth that out, but even that shows the fragility of the process. This is why they are not an anti-doping test, but used to guide suspicions and do targeted testing using properly robust methods.

      It is madness to try an athlete based on those alone. Which is why WADA doesn't do that. And nor should public opinion.
