    Decent pubs nr. King's Cross.

    Do such things exist?

    Leaving here, five-ish I reckon, for a 19:57 train.

Ignore that. Euston Flyer is civilised enough

I nearly met some OTFers in a pub near KX once, which had been recommended. But on arrival, it was cordoned off with tape, having played host to a stabbing the night before. Luckily I did manage to locate Nesta Arantes de Nascimento and have a pint in the end, but that ended up being much closer to Euston.

The Fullers pub inside the station isn't too shabby. Not cheap, ind.

The King Charles, in Northington Street, which is small but cosy, and does a couple of decent ales. Also, the Queens Head off Greys Inn Road, though it's a bit more pricey.

Finding a pub in London that Guy will like sounds a tough gig.

Mabel's Tavern on Flaxman Terrace is okay, if you don't mind Shepherd Neame ale.

If you drink lager, then anywhere will do you.

I was going to suggest a pub in Holloway for you, given how far away your train is when it comes in.

Far too late, but The Queen's Head on Acton Street is very nice.

And I don't mind The Parcel Yard in the station. Yes, expensive, but by no means the worst station pub in the world.
