The Guardian article I read on this gave the impression that the Men's side are also in dispute with the FFA. Actually so does the one linked to, it seems to be a general confrontation between the players association and the Federation. The Women appear to be striking whereas the Men were just working to rule due to the different nature of their current games, friendlies for the Women and World Cup Qualifiers for the Men. One of those has significantly higher consequences if it goes unplayed.
