Pretty much all of the Yanquee shows that you've all mentioned. Now the British ones that I've never seen a full episode of :

      EastEnders
The Bill (not even the one where my niece was in the background...)
      Emmerdale (Farm)
      The X Factor
Big Brother and it's sleb version.

      Tons more

Clive, you've got to check out Black Books. It's utterly brilliant. I'll lend you the DVDs if you want.

I quite envy anyone who hasn't seen the Sopranos, cos they have such a treat in store when they finally start from S1E1. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I haven't seen the Sopranos yet. I've seen snippets - five minutes here and there - but never a whole episode.

evilC - take GY's suggestion on Black Books, it's brilliant. Best watched slightly drunk, I find.

Jeez, and I haven't seen the Sopranos either.

That's an 'I need to be in the mood for that one' special. I'll probably be 'in the mood' in, say, 2030.

                  Heroes
                  Lost

                  And many more.

I saw a few Sopranos episodes after visiting a friend who has grown up in Belleville, NJ, and whose next door neighbor was one of the characters the story was loosely based on. Basically no one bothered locking their doors on his block. He took me on a tour of the places that kind of figure in the show, like the pastry shop where old-timers used to hang out. It's not a bad show, but not nearly worth the adulation it gets.

I've only ever seen one episode of The Wire I don't know when I'll have time to watch them on DVD.

I've only seen one episode of Deadwood I couldn't follow it at all. Same with The Shield.

I've never watched more than a minute of American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, The Apprentice or anything like it. I watched a few episodes of the first season of The Bachelor, because it was amusing to see the crazy women, but the novelty wore off.

Everyone should see Battlestar Galactica. It's the best tv show ever (except The Twilight Zone.)

Ian 64 - what the hell made you think of 'Howard's Way'?

                      Anyway:

                      24
                      Lost
                      Desperate Housewives
                      The Wire
                      Family Guy
                      King of the Hill
                      West Wing
                      Home and Away
                      Hollyoaks

I'm sure I'm missing out on some good times.

Did I see someone above admitting they had never seen 'Friends'? Impossible, unless you are a High Court judge, I would have thought.

Worth seeing a few. I found, though, that the fun was in the episodes that established the characters, and then in familiarity with the characters themselves, rather than particularly good storylines.

                          Battlestar Galactica. And no intention.

                              Good question.

I've always had the impression that it's a bit cheesy - I may be wrong as I've never seen a single episode ("So how can you say it's 'cheesy', then, you tw*t!") Yes, I know.

I must have seen excerpts or trailers in the past, I suppose.

For whatever reason, it leaves me cold before I've even tasted it.

(I dunno - perhaps for the same reason - tell me if it's nothing like it - I would never pay to watch a Star Trek film, or spend more than the time it takes to flick a button on the TV controls to zap past any episode of the modern Star Trek.)

Also ... I've never really had the opportunity - always out of the country (Britain), and it never came to me.

                              .

It really, really isn't cheesy. It's one of the least cheesy US shows I know, in fact. I can't really do the show justice in words, partly because I'll just end up gushing about it and put you off, but you should definitely give it a try. Borrow the DVDs off someone or watch it on Hulu. The only reason I can possibly think for not liking it is a total hatred of sci-fi. But it's unlike any other TV sci-fi around.

Easily explained. Coming in late(ish) on this thread, I found that most of the programmes previous posters had mentioned tallied with those I'd missed, so, to save typing them all out again, I copied and pasted, pruning here and there, but forgot to omit Howard's Way (which I only see on those 'Worst Of' telly clip shows nowadays).

So you should be asking SR that question.

Hill Street Blues, that's one. It's on every day on More4 as well.
