Jordan Clark is more than ok and is the best player technically at the Club. He got my vote for goal of the season against Bury at home.

It has been confirmed today that Grant is in talks. I'm not fussed either way about him.

Apparently we are losing Ben Pringle and Craig Morgan. I'm not best pleased.

well it seems that nicolas otamendi has told valencia that he wants to find new professional challenges. It seems that Valencia are going to quintuple the money they paid for him 18 months ago, if Man utd pay his €60 million buy out clause.

Nicolas otamendi is represented by Eugenio López, an agent who also represents Angel Di Maria. Eugenio seems to work for....... Gestifute. isn't that nice and neat.

Jack King off to Scunthorpe United.

Scary neck tattoos, so I probably won't remind him of the comedy element of his name to his face.

Late starter to professional game (already nearly 30) but with an impressive upward trajectory. Until now.

They have given Andre Wisdom one as well, in their infinite, erm, wisdom. A player whom they regard so highly that he has spent the last two years out on loan at Derby and West Brom.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with sending a young player on loan to the championship, and then a premier league club. before putting him in the first team. Although Tony Pullis barely picked him after he took over.

That kolo toure thing is madness.

QPR are releasing Rio Ferdinand, Joey Barton, Richard Dunne, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Bobby Zamora. New contracts have been offered to Ale Faurlin and Clint Hill.

Also Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin are likely joining us, Swindon have apparently accepted a bid of £4 million for the pair.

Shrewsbury have signed a midfielder called Martin Woods from Ross County.

If Ryan Woods stays, then there will be two midfielders called Woods. Which might get confusing.

If Ryan leaves, then they should give his number to Martin so everyone with Woods 4 on their shirt will still be current.

From the outside I am surprised about Barton leaving and to a lesser extent Zamora. Barton will surely go to another Premier League club.

Perhaps. Joey has a higher opinion of himself — and his abilities — than others. He's coming off a contract that paid him in the region of £65,000pw. For that you get someone who runs and harries for 90 minutes, but can't pass accurately over five yards, is hopeless from dead ball situations, and scores about three time a season. And they're the positives...

Zamora, you could make more of a case for. He's a decent hold-up up man who would be worth another short contract at the right price, if healthy. Trouble is he's not. His legs are done, he's been playing on willpower for two years.

Re-signing him also sends the wrong signals. Separation from the Redknapp/Hughes eras, when old/crocked players were brought in to do a job their heart or body couldn't deliver, is required.

Yes - if a home grown player is under 24 there will be some compensation payable if moves at the end of his contract, assuming that the club losing the player has offered him a new contract worth at least as much as his previous deal.

That's good news for Burnley and explains why Spurs have apparently made a bid for him. Cheers SZ

Would they still get money if he moved abroad?

There would be compensation to Burnley (with a small proportion going to Bournemouth) if Ings moved abroad, although the system FIFA use for calculating compensation on international moves is slightly different to the one the FA uses for domestic moves.

B+ season on the pitch, for sure (Cup disappointments drag it down a grade). More wins than defeats (a first in this top flight spell), more goals scored than conceded (also a first). Joint 8th on the goals scored chart, which is way up, and 6th on goals against which is as good as anything the previous regime put together.
And also, as you allude to, a significant and positive shift on the squad demographic. I think Stoke were the lowest spenders in the Premier as well last season, which means there is a significant pot of cash available this summer.

They signed a player today. A new back-up goalkeeper from Denmark. He is being portrayed by the club as a replacement for Sorensen, who is leaving. The suspicion is that he is more like Butland's back-up for next season.

Oh, and Berba, just one 'l' in Pulis.

Is Ings home grown, though? He was a Bournemouth player that Howe took with him on his ill-fated spell at Turf Moor. Does four years as a pro with no time in the youth system count?
