Might as well kick this off with the news that Man Utd have signed Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven for £22 million.

Well yes, they are already ridiculously inflated, but the relaxing of FFP must surely open the market back up to some of the Sugardaddy clubs again and mean that those fees become even more preposterous than they already were.

The goalkeeper merry-go-round will be the drawn out affair of the summer, it seems. Main vacancy is at Real Madrid.
David De Gea is the big story here obviously, but if he moves then that opens up spots somewhere for Petr Cech and Asmir Begovic, who both seem to want to switch clubs. But in neither case probably not directly replacing Casillas or filling the gap left by the man who probably will, either.
At a guess it will all end something like:-
De Gea -> Real
Lloris -> Man U
Cech (or Begovic?) -> Spurs
Someone (Begovic?) -> Chelsea reserves
But there will be a lot of words written and a lot of boredom for all before that is finally all sorted.

Ignoring such minor fuss, the big news is Cambridge's first signing of the summer. Centre-back Leon Legge has joined on a free. To quote the club website;
The 29-year joins the Us from Gillingham FC after a two and half year spell at the Priestfield stadium.
As well as adding solidarity to the Us defensive line, Legge brings a wealth of experience to the club having amassed over 280 career appearances.
He is now and forevermore to be referred to as Comrade Legge.

Lovely cuddly Xavi:
Barcelona midfielder Xavi is ready to announce on Thursday he is leaving Barcelona to join Qatari side Al Sadd in a three-year deal, says his agent.
...Xavi would also become an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup to be held in the Gulf state and look to start his coaching qualifications.

Carlisle have already signed Jason Kennedy (ex-Bradford, spent arse end of last season on loan with us), Michael Raynes (ex-Mansfield) and Luke Joyce (ex-Carlisle and most recently at Accrington).
I'm pleased they're getting some deals done early as all the signs are that things are descending into turmoil off the field.

The Awesome Berbaslug!!! wrote: old being the right word. Schweinsteiger is nearly 31, and has missed large portions of the last two seasons. I'd be very surprised if van gaal is interested in signing him.
Van Gaal turned Schweinsteiger into a central midfielder, Schweinsteiger would fill a void for which there might be no available candidates, van Gaal likes players he knows, and Schweinsteiger is out of favour with Pep and will be out of contract next season, so he'll be relatively cheap.
Though I'm far more excited about rumours that van Gaal wants Thomas Müller, another old protege who doesn't seem to gel with Pep. Müller would be his Cantona.
