    Joe Cocker, RIP

Just breaking on the BBC. I couldn't say I knew a lot of his music, but I always thought his voice was amazing.

Oh no, seventy is no age these days. I wasn't a great fan but, well actually that's irrelevant.

A tragic loss and his legacy and talent was huge. RIP.

Few white people had as much black soul in them.
Live at Filmore 1970, what a night to have missed!

I always thought he was rather overrated. I have no idea about his character, and don't particularly dislike his music, even like a few songs, but I don't get that idea that he was a especially gifted singer. At times he was a bit affected.

Still, 70 years is not very old, and lung cancer can fuck off...

I worked with a guy who roadied for him in the '80s. My favourite Cocker synopsis from him was "Came on an hour late. Sang two songs. Puked all over the front row and walked off."

G-Man, you have to venture back beyond the 80's bullshit.

Isn't anyone going to say he's "up where he belongs"?

                (What, too soon?)

At the risk of sounding a bit harsh, his voice reminds me a bit of Michael Bolton though he was of course of a different register. RIP.

Dislike a lot of his 80s stuff, but Marjorine is great.

I'm not a fan of his '70s stuff either.
