I was rather sad when Sonny Bivins of The Manhattans died earlier this month. As noted on the bands reforming thread,The Manhattans were one of the very few soul bands of the 1970s whose classic line-up was still intact, until Bivins' death.
Now Winfred "Blue" Lovett died two days ago. He was the bass singer who did the spoken intro for "Kiss And Say Goodbye" (which he had written, originally intended for Glen Campbell).
A funny month: two Manhattans died within a week of one another; Bobby Keys and Ian McLagan, who both moved in the same circles and periodically collaborated, died within a day of one another.
And then there is the Italian singer Mango who died on stage; very next day his brother died...
