    No More A Stranger

He seemed a genuinely decent bloke, did Acker. He came to music late, previously working at the Wills fag factory in Bristol, and also as a blacksmith. He was very much a feature of the early 60's - my mum and dad thought he was ace.

He played Stranger to my Mum once, apparently.

      Pensford's finest. Rest well.

He looked disconcertingly like Jimmy Hill.

The world would be an even more stressful place without Stranger on the Shore.

Can't help but be reminded of the rubbish joke about the woman in the bath.

But yeah, Stranger On The Shore is one of music's lovely little moments.

Can't say as I remember that one.

              RIP, Mister Acker.

I think it was during his modal phase.
