I'm whistling. But you're not there...
The utter buffoon reading the news on Radio 2 this morning said she had "married Humphrey Bogart after appearing together in 'To Have and to Have Not'."
Really?
Not "married each other" then?
Idiot.

And of Tim Curry's "I Do The Rock".
From Billy Joel's gang there's still Doris Day, England's "new queen", Brigitte Bardot, Chubby Checker, Fidel Castro, Bob Dylan, John Glenn, killer Bernhard Goetz and a few children of thalidomide to go.

I enjoyed her performance in The Shootist but I haven't seen it mentioned in any obituary.
However, I was interested to learn that she was in a film called Young Man With A Horn along with Kirk Douglas and Doris Day, both of whom are still with us.
The only other actor from Hollywood's Golden Age that I can think of left alive is Sidney Poitier. Any others?

Her appearance on Desert Island Discs back in 1979 is worth a listen. Everything that was said about her 'sassy' voice comes across in the programme. It sounded like she was shamelessly flirting with the staid Roy Plomley.
