I must be getting sentimental in my old age, but I don't want quality players to be remembered for one endlessly replayed lowlight. So I'm glad Kroos got away with it.
It's looking a bit spicy, could be 10 v 10 in extra time.
Better first half than I expected. It seems that the problem for both sides is the tactics: (1) Germany continues to rely too heavily on crosses from the wings. Although that play can create holes in the middle, Germany's best chances from open play have come from play through the middle (minus that cross from Muller to Klose that was hit a bit too hard). (2) Argentina is suffering from the same problem that has plagued them all tournament: they lack a true number 10 so they are basically set up in a 7-3 formation with two banks of defenders and Messi, Lavetzi, and Higuain all alone up top.
