          I don't understand it, from a practical POV, for an artist who wants to get on with their work and be popular. Apart from the PR angle, surely paying a fuckload of tax would salve your conscience and absolve you from having to do charity gigs or even think about social problems too much, so you could get on with your work.

          I can see that you might want to make a point about how much goes into defence and you'd rather more was directed towards the vulnerable etc., but you could do it from a fairly righteous standpoint.

          These schemes seem more trouble than they're worth.
