QF4. The battle of the Caribbean

Neither team is finding a rhythm. I had higher hopes for this one than it has delivered so far.

QF4. The battle of the Caribbean

In short, Statto, it's a round of 16 match rather than a QF. Plucky underdog surprises clear favourite by hanging in, and wll get picked off by a late goal.

Ta, ad hoc. I get the idea.

Glancing to one side, I notice the general hustle and bustle of the match is doing wonders for my fantasy team.

QF4. The battle of the Caribbean

I'm enjoying watching what Costa Rica are trying to do a good deal more than the wretched non-performances of Belgium and, to a lesser extent, France.

QF4. The battle of the Caribbean

It might be worth saying that I haven't seen anything in the European quarter final performances that makes me think there's a gulf in class between England and the teams in question.

Isn't it about time Robben did his diving thing?

Gamboa's replacement, Dave Myrie, makes me nervous- competetive debut in a quarter final has heartbreaking error written all over it.

And Robben throws himself tantrum-like to the ground again

Fair dues to the Swedish commentators, they predicted that Sneijder would aim for the left post.

Costa Rica's only tactic from here on in has to be to stop Robben getting the ball anywhere near the area because you know what he's going to do if he does (and that won't involve propelling the ball towards the actual goal).

Poor old Gonzales. Possibly robbed of his chance in the Semi final by Captain Entitlement.

                                    Twatman and Robin.

There's gonna be about 5 or 6 minutes added to this half, isn't there? Robben time.

QF4. The battle of the Caribbean

Van Persie misses a sitter - the game-winning moment! - so decides to pretend he was fouled, too, and dives to hide his embarassment.

This Dutch side really are an unremitting bunch of cunts, aren't they?

Robben's just had ANOTHER extraordinary dive, too.

Diaz must have reminded the referee of what he knows just as he was reaching for his card.
