                  In the mid-1970s, my sister had "Alan" in Tipp-Ex on the toe of her left plimsoll, with "Derek" on the right. She was a Bay City Rollers fan in general and a Longmuir brothers fan in particular.

                  Not as good as the "Johnny" and "Rep" combination on the toes of a classmate during the 1978 World Cup, but still not bad.

                        More Alans in Russia than anywhere else apparently. Theres a Saint Alan who 'Alania Vladikavkaz" are named after.
                        Amazing the shit that sticks in your head from watching UEFA Cup matches on TV. Im sure it was a Villa game which shows how long ago it was.
