    A Well Regulated Militia . . .

Nobody should be surprised by that. Texas open-carry fetishism is not based on reason or evidence to begin with, so why would further evidence that encouraging more people to carry guns is unreasonable change the fetishists' minds?

Can you all explain to this "bear of little brain" why if there's a "Texas Open Carry Fetishism", is there a reason why they're only legislating for it now?

Other states have had it for quite a while, haven't they?

        A Well Regulated Militia . . .

Primarily long standing and consistent opposition by local law enforcement and a very loose gun licensing arrangement that makes it very easy to get "concealed carry" licences.

        Useful background.

They've been agitating for it for a long time, but only got a sympathetic legislature and governor in the last election.

More broadly, though, it's because these fools only feel threatened when there's a Democratic president. They're absolutely terrified Obama is going to take their guns, despite his complete capitulation and non-action on the issue.

              Alan West is ON IT!

It didn't take long for a conservative blog to connect the U.S. military's upcoming "Jade Helm 15" training exercise to President Barack Obama's order Monday that banned certain military-grade equipment from being given to local law enforcement agencies.

Personally, I can't wait for Jade Helm to start so I can be liberated by federal troops and help Obama usher in socialism.

Yeah, because the one thing stopping the world's most powerful military from imposing martial law is a handful of uparmoured humvees owned by police departments.

                        Wow.

I've also been seeing chatter on Twitter suggesting that it was actually the police who opened fire first and accounted for most or all of the deaths. Who knows if it's true, but if it is . . .

I suppose that even easier access to firearms makes it simpler to put a fucking bullet through your temple rather than having to watch another one of his derisory, soul sucking, spirit crushing, buddy buddy comedies. Silver linings and all that.

Man struts about Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport with an AR-15 machine rifle around his neck. But don't worry he's not breaking the law.
In one video clip, a guard tells him that he is scaring passengers. He replied: “Well, people’s fear are not my responsibility.”
We're not even in the territory of terrifying anymore, we're now in the territory of the utterly surreal.

Man dies in his SUV in Pacific Palisades and goes unnoticed for two weeks.

Police find TWELVE HUNDRED guns in his house.

“We don't think the weapons are illegal. We are taking them for public safety,” said Sgt. David Craig of the LAPD's gang and narcotics division.

                                          For example

His fiancée’s attorney, Harland Braun, previously said the man died in the parking lot of Bristol Farms on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica on July 4. His fiancée, the lawyer said, wasn’t sure what to do with the body and left it in a vehicle on Palisades Drive while she headed to Oregon. Braun said his client believed that a government agency that the man had claimed to work for would come to collect him.

In early versions of the story, even Braun didn't know the guy's name. I'm not even sure the girlfriend did.

The investigation into the gun purchases is going to be very interesting.
