I read it as saying that it's a problem that it has taken the existence of a Trump administration for people to get active enough to demonstrate. (It's not, after all, like the gun issue is actually something that has come about during this administration). Marches don't often change policy (though they sometimes do, and we shouldn't forget that), but being politically active is not just about voting. Caring about what happens in ones country is not simply an issue that happens every 4 years. I am glad that people are getting out there and experiencing their political bubble in a more human more active way.

That's an interesting question that is primarily an issue of state law.
My guess is that such a claim is possible, but that it would be difficult to win in a state that allows open carry.Comment

Today at my middle school it was "Field Day." This is a laid-back day of games and activities to give the staff and students a bit of break to celebrate the close of the year and to ready the kids to buckle down for final exams next week.
I get to my computer for lunch and see "Santa Fe High School shooting," (initially thinking of Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, NM). What an absolute contrast to the fun and camaraderie I just went through w/ my kids.
Dunno whether it's the end of the year, or what, but this shooting has hit me harder than that of Parkland.
Will the nation get a 2-3 month break from another school shooting before we start off again in the Fall?
