I really don't feel like going to work today. I feel like I'm hanging on until the Christmas break.

Latest phone torment - the other night I was visiting, and my phone was in a zipped up jacket pocket. I opened the pocket to get my snout and a blinding light shone out. The demonic device had turned its torch on, and was consequently really warm. It also appeared to have attempted to access the internet. The only way to calm it down was to turn it off. I mean this isn't merely slightly annoying, it seems potentially dangerous; if I hadn't discovered it then it might have carried on heating up to some kind of critical mass.

I didn't even know it had a torch, ffs.

I'll be cat-sitting for Christmas. This time I'll go armed with chicken from the outset in a bid to reduce the animal's sulking time (she misses her human and gets nervous about the change of routine).

The BBC weather app thinks Iím in Ghana. Google maps has my location correct.

Yes, that does sound a bit dangerous. My Cintiq graphics tablet (which was stupidly expensive- £2k or so) once heated up so it was too hot to touch. Thought it must surely be done for, but no, it recovered. Apparently you canít leave them on standby in their pouches, you have to turn them off completely.

After living with a firefighter for 2 years and hearing horror stories about exploding aerosols and electrical fires, I tend to turn everything off except the fridge (which is probably biding its time) but I donít always shut down my devices.

My Dad has two different answers he gives when asked what his middle name is, depending on how he is feeling when asked. Which is helpful...

So MsD, as someone with inflammables experience can I run something by you? Itís gone now but for around 15 years I had a quarter full pressurised gas bottle for barbecue use. Despite the new barbecue being on mains gas*, the bottle stayed, first in the tin shed then under the wooden deck. During this long stay the temperature ranged between 5C and 44C.

It didnít blow up so I guess it t was fine?

    *welcome to the untamed outback.
