And now it seems the Basques are getting restive:

The Basques still have ETA? This should end well.

It seems Ciudadanos have finally gone into reverse, due to Sanchez becoming PM, and Casado gaining the PP leadership:

Meanwhile, Puigdemont returned to Belgium yesterday, and it appears can visit any EU country bar Spain after the lifting of his EAW.

Beautiful, those wolves in Centrist clothing can’t compete with the pp for blood and soil Spanish Nat votes, loss on the social liberalism front to PSOE. Hope they are gone to the dust soon.

It appears Sanchez has offered the Generalitat negotiations on a vote for increased autonomy - basically, a return to Zapatero's Estatut proposal, but Torra will only settle for an independence referendum, and stalemate remains. Presumably, the courts would remain opposed to the PSOE plan, but it seems strange that the nationalists aren't pushing for an amnesty for Puigdemont, when it would surely be in Madrid's power to drop the case?

Manuel Valls, the former Prime Minister of France, has resigned his seat in the National Assembly to run for mayor of Barcelona on a "Civic Platform" ticket.

Valls was born in Barcelona and speaks fluent Catalan and Spanish, so this isn't as strange as it may sound.

After the Catalan trial began yesterday, the two pro-independence parties promptly bring down Sanchez's government in a budget vote - which may prove self-defeating, as polls point to a PP-C's coalition propped up by Vox.

That any political party would have anything to do with Vox is disgusting...mind you, I think the same thing about PP and Cs.

It's not "self-defeating" on the issue of independence, is it?

At least Sanchez might have devolved some autonomy, whether that be in relation to taxes or greater federalisation, whereas the right certainly won't go anywhere near constitutional reform, and the international community wouldn't recognise any unilateral moves, as we saw in 2017.

                                  They want independence.

Yes, but in order to secure international recognition, some negotiation with Madrid will be necessary.

And PSOE, currently, won't negotiate on independence any more than PP will.

An utterly debased PP/C Cunts covert fascist coalition backed by by the Vox openly fash bastards might overplay their hand enough with Guardia Civil thugs and their bullshit attachment to their Precious Union of Franco apologism that even the EU will look more kindly on The Cause. And drive current Indy naysayers in Catalunya to the Si side. At least, I'd imagine that's part of the calculations by some of the Catala Nats.

                                                No.

You have to have Spanish nationality to vote in the generals. I can vote in local and, at the moment, European ones.

                                                  Is your partner similarly situated?

Your son is too young, so that would mean the whole family is disenfranchised, which is the situation we were in Germany and Italy (though there, we couldn't even vote in local or European elections, not being EU nationals).

My partner is in the same situation, without the Brexit nonsense in her case.
