Even though I’d been in Ireland close to a decade before stumbling across WSC as a prime lurk site for wasting time when I was still underworked, I used to have no fucking idea what the hell Dunc was on about with his maps and stuff (the stuff that brings the Many Faces of Gonzo/a Doctor Speaks/OnceGaza/Costanza/George C/Darby O Gill out in hives).

‘As you were’ is actually very significant, and a victory of sorts over Rajoy, in a ‘free, fair’ election where leaders were arrested or fled, posters impounded, slogans banned, celebrities threatened for saying anything...

Oh and Garzon (IU/podemos) distinguishes himself by tweeting ‘the workers have no country’ & Brecht anti-nationalist poems. Poems about the destructive power of GERMAN nationalism. Imagine Bert would’ve been rather in favour of Austrian resistance to the Anschluss or Czech nationalists fighting back in 38.

El Clasico should be lively tomorrow.

John Taylor, the scourge of Irish nationalists, has ironically become a defender of the Catalan leadership:

Ciudadanos confess their own powerlessness by admitting their inability to form a government:

It appears Jordi Turull (Junts) will finally be elected Catalan president today, in the second round of voting.

CUP abstained, so a straight majority would suffice tomorrow. Meanwhile, he and four further prominent politicians have been jailed without bail:

The former Education Minister is employed by St. Andrews Uni. She’s handing herself into Police Scotland following the issuing of the European Arrest Warrant. Cue Wings Over Scotland type eejits demanding that Sturgeon intervene with the judicial process. Lots of “Disgust” with the EU as well, that the whole affair is making them Pro Brexit. Fucking hell.

Hmmm, it's not a good look for Germany to be arresting Catalan leaders and handing them over to Spain. That's what happened to Companys

Ciudadanos would become the largest Spanish party if a GE were to be held now:

                                        C's 27%
                                        PP 23%
                                        PSOE 20%
                                        Podemos 18%

                                        Seats:

                                        Ciudadanos 98
                                        PP 90
                                        PSOE 76
                                        Podemos 64

A coalition of the right, then.

Despite the National being only a step above the Sun or bog roll normally, the above is a very good appraisal of the extradition case and the practicalities of the European Arrest Warrant away from George Kerevan/Angus B McNeill bullshit hysteria on one side, and Ian Murray Slab style let them eat Spanish Justice sick Rottweiler keech wedged in your trainers tread on the other. Peat Warrior/Tickell is the best and certainly the sharpest of the pro Indy bloggers (he sez, cos their views often align).

The head of the Madrid regional government (PP) is under pressure to resign after lying about having a Master's on her CV - Podemos will back a Socialist motion, which puts the pressure on C's to break the umbilical cord to big brother. Elsewhere, Puigdemont has reverted to backing Jordi Sanchez for the Catalan presidency.
