Maybe it's time to revive that thread about the premise of 90s music having been bad. It wasn't really, by and large, but the particular strain that started out with solid groups like the Cure, Bauhaus, Cocteau Twins (to not use the dreaded G-word) really degenerated by the mid-90s.
